Totowa police responded to two domestic disturbance calls at Giants receiver Plaxico Burress's home the past few months, borough police Chief Robert Coyle confirmed. In both instances, Burress's wife, Tiffany, had phoned the police, reports show. Temporary restraining orders were obtained in each but were later dismissed in state court. It could not be determined whether the incidents had anything to do with Burress's suspension by the Giants today for the team's Oct. 5 game against the Seattle Seahawks. Pat Hanlon, a spokesman for the Giants, said the team will "not comment on a player's personal life."

All speculation right now. I'm sure more will come out of this though

I agree, all speculation jj730. The biggest shocker here for me is Plaxico owns/rents a home in Totowa??? Of all the suburban areas of North Jersey to call home for NY pro team players to settle in, he picks Totowa???

i doubt if this is true, if it was we would have heard about it when it happened.

The Giants "gave him the money" now Plaxico gives them the shaft!!!

Just don't understand their reasoning. I'm thinking he has some mental issues. He is definitely not thinking right.

This is old news. There were two times in the past that there were family differences.....There is obviously some discord in the family and better that he deal with that...He called Charles Way late Monday to tell him, too late....Coughlin, Reese and Mara met and decided the suspenion was warranted... I agree....He was suspended for a game in 2006 for missing a team meeting. He knows the system and is not above it.....He will return after the Seattle game with his head on strait, or they will send him home again....

Hope so 50yearfan. Giants don't need to discord like Shockey and Tiki gave them. Manning needs to keep his focus too.

Plaxico is a huge ars, period.

He is a selfish whiner who whined his way out of Pittsburgh and ended up in New York where times have not changed.

He has squabbled with management over contract issues several times, and only a couple of weeks after getting rewarded with a huge new deal, he pulls this stuff? No class.

He is a clown who has no idea what the word "team" means.

How do you doubt the Chief of Police saying it? I doubt he'd lie.

Agreed. Plax has his head screwed on right so I really don't know what some of these idiots are talking about. I think the issue will come to light as to why he did not respond to the team, until then everything else is just speculation.

Of course not. It's not like he's an elected official.

Hooah! 3-0!.....I think the whole league has had it with " prima donnas "..He is a high wire guy, but not a criminal..Just immature...he will get it or not... I have to give TO credit...He finally grew up and got it.....Burress can do the same...He is not a stupid man.....but I hate that goatee...that is uuuugly.

September 25, 2008  08:49 AM ET

nascarzorin...All he had to do was make a call...People have called 911 in the middle of real crisis...He knows the rule, he was suspended in 2006 for a similar action..He just did not think it mattered...Guess he was wrong.....I bet records would show he used his cell phone that day to make other calls or text messages.........he was wrong, he has been dealt with, now he should just try to make himself better...

We all know enough to call into work sick, late, whatever. It is a job and there are responsibilities. Tell the boss the cable guy is coming....or something.
