O.J. liked USC's chances

O.J. Simpson remains an admirer of his alma mater and a pariah of society. The man who ran to stardom at USC and then the NFL, was acquitted of double-murder and now stands trial on kidnapping and armed robbery charges that could land him in prison for the rest of his life, is in touch with the Trojans even if he appears out of touch with his future. Simpson had time in the middle of his trial to speak by telephone to a Post reporter. He believes this might be the best team coach Pete Carroll has had. "They have so much more talent, they wear teams down," said Simpson. "They wore down Ohio State."

Great college game. Wow. Have to give Oregon State all the credit...Just go away OJ, just go away...

September 26, 2008  07:28 AM ET

Hey, if you've got OJ for you who can beat you? Oh...I guess Oregon State.

USC apparently has issues with lowly PAC-10 teams. Stanford and now Oregon State. I mean, let's get real here people...USC had no business losing this game. They came into a fairly hostile arena and got outplayed by a lesser team. See Stanford's win last year for more information.

The only thing that surprised me about USC losing last night, is normally they wait until near the end of the season to lose to a random unranked PAC 10 team...

As a Penn St. fan, this win was doubly satisfying. First there was the crestfallen look on Pete Carroll's face, then the realization that this would make us look that much better after blasting the Beavers two weeks ago!!!

5'6" David brought down Goliath.*

*Goliath did have help from a great O line and a tenacious D.

Btw, this OSU (not the other OSU with the fans that even HELL won't take) has USC's number. This was one Beaver that was nastier than Kim K's.

Out of touch is right on. "They wore down OH St."? So did Ohio Univ....see you at the execution folks!

I am so happy that USC lost. I am so sick of seeing the same teams in the National Championship game year after year. I hope Oklahoma losses as well. You basically have the same 10 teams at the top every year with a few exceptions. I hope Missouri does not lose. The crazy thing is that USC still might be back, they were in contention two years ago before they lost to UCLA after losing to Oregon State that year.

I'm glad USC lost..... It's about time someone knocked them off that high horse.

September 26, 2008  09:12 AM ET

Oregon State is a good football team, I knew they would give USC a run for their money. This boosts Penn States stock too.

September 26, 2008  09:13 AM ET

Games like this are what make college football great.

ditto that..CFB is the best.

i love the USC meltdowns.
Pac 10 sucks this year horribly bad. No way they shoudl even sniff the NCG. While the SEC and Big 12 are beating eachother up every week, those 2 conferences should have the national championship game.

How bad is Ohio State too? WOW. I didnt expect OSU to win that gaem.

September 26, 2008  09:36 AM ET

Oregon State totally dominated that game. The bad part is the loss is early in the season and it just might smack USC in the face. I expect that this game will be shown to them every week to keep them on their toes. I wouldnt be surprised if they won the rest of their games and still make it to the NC

There you go: Blame OJ.

September 26, 2008  09:45 AM ET

WOW..... welcome to college football. On any given game day...............
