Brazil national team boss Dunga has explained his reasons for dropping Ronaldinho for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers. Dunga has explained that he has left out Ronaldinho because he feels he needs to improve his fitness, but he says the door is wide open for him to return soon. "We believe in him," Dunga stressed.

I'n not sure I believe in Ronaldinho anymore. He's had time to regain fitness by now. My nine-year-old son won't wear his Ronaldinho jersey anymore he's so disillusioned.

Ronaldinho isn't an out and out disapointment yet, but Dunga is making the right choice here. Why play an unmotivated Ronaldinho with so much other talent at your disposal?

Anyway, Dunga needs something to happen soon if he wants to keep his job.

Why does he need to explain this? Seems pretty obvious.

September 26, 2008  11:39 AM ET

Dinho is also getting some press for being linked to Brazilian drug dealers. That type of press typically doesn't lead to getting called up for Qualifiers.

This must be a statement for the world media, certainly not Brasil. For Brasil he would need to explain 'WHY' he's on the squad.

I hope he isn't heading down the same path Maradona ended up taking........

He's too fat, he eats too many french fries...
i cant believe a top club would sign him for big bucks, they must have NO vision..

Agreed J.HOVA. and also with KC Coach. I used to love watching Dinho play but lately???
I really do hope he gets his head out of the clouds or his career is finished.
Unless this is what he wants. Maybe he has made enough money for himself and has just had it.

Why play futbol when you can party--and of course, eat twinkies!

That was actually Anderson and it was his apartment the drug dealer was staying at, though neither Anderson nor Dinho had any knowledge of it. But I think it's a sad reflection of where Dinho is STILL at, he hasn't showed much of anything this year PERIOD, Olympics...joke, Brazil...joke, Milan...joke. Seedorf at his ripe old age is outplaying a guy who not that long ago was FIFA player of the year!
I also still watch highlights and awesome plays he made on youtube, etc. and am AMAZED at how far he has fallen...WOW.

IMO they should ship his **** back to poor a $ $ Brazil and back to his roots to remind him of what it means to play for big clubs and stop squandering these gifts he is blessed with, much like Inter did with Adriano, again just my humble opinion.

If he lays off the cheesecakes and the suspicious looking oregano substance,
he should be fine...

September 27, 2008  12:54 AM ET

Oregeno? Uh, do you mean...? Oh I see... I still think it isn't that or cheesecake, I hear it's twinkies... Morning, noon and night--twinkies. Oh that and some puff. Hand in hand they go....

I can't explain Ronaldinho's poor form for Selecao, so I think Dunga is right to keep him out of lineup until th form & desire return - if ever.

Maybe you're not around here a lot, but I wasn't commneting on your spelling of Oregano, you moron. Maybe you need to re-read my post. I was "kidding", ie. about not knowing what you meant when you wrote "oregano" not challenging your spelling!?!??! Maybe if you were a regular poster, you would know who some of the other regular posters were and there sense of humor, BEFORE you make an idiot of yourself.

Before you start opening your little yapper, like a fool, TRY READING the post before implying that someone doesn't know what oregeno is. I'm sorry your to "slow" to get my joke.
