07:01 AM ET 09.26 | The vibe in the Rams locker room Wednesday and Thursday was that several Rams players weren't happy about the benching of Marc Bulger. But no one would say so publicly. Well, outspoken running back Steven Jackson took care of that Thursday night on his "Rolling the Dice" radio show on KLOU (103.3 FM). Jackson said benching Bulger was the "wrong decision." "He's our general," said Jackson, who then pointed out that you don't pay someone "$60-something million" and then sit him on the bench. Although he harbors no ill will against Trent Green, who replaces Bulger in the starting lineup Sunday against Buffalo, Jackson wondered aloud about what will happen when it's time for Bulger to return to the starting lineup? Jackson intimated strongly that Bulger would be unwilling to do so. Team sources did in fact tell the Post-Dispatch on Thursday that Bulger no longer wants to play for coach Scott Linehan. Bulger has declined comment for three consecutive days since his benching became public knowledge.

Trent Green? He's a strong wind away from the concussion that ends his career. Can't blame the QB for a pourous Oline.

Makes sense. Bulger doesn't play defense. Bulger doesn't play O-line. There's more problems than the QB.

How can you sit a QB on the bench who signed a $60 million dollar contract ??
I guess their front office is as good as the coaching!!

desperate coach makes a desperate move. doubt the coach survives the season.

September 26, 2008  08:11 AM ET

Wow....for one of the first times ever I have agreed with a player publicly speaking out against his coach. look at your secondary Scott, not your QB. The QB is solid

Linehan is gone, I bet a QB needy team starts inquiring to the availability of Bulger, I'd hate to see it, but you know the Pats probably would give up a pick or two

Go Jackson and run your AS* off this w/e as need the fantasy points:)

September 26, 2008  08:16 AM ET

Linehan won't make it past Halloween I'm willing to bet..

September 26, 2008  08:21 AM ET

I agree this desperate move just gave Linehan his walking papers , Bulger is not the problem at all.

While I cannot endorse the idea that the amount of money a player makes should be directly proportional to his playing time, I do think that moving Trent Green into the starting lineup is a mistake. When you add a porous offensive line to an immobile, prone to concussion quarterback, disaster is usually the outcome. Trent Green should have retired before ever returning to the Rams.

September 26, 2008  08:29 AM ET

he really shouldn't worry ... Trent will be out by the second half

not wishing it on them ... it just happens ...

September 26, 2008  08:46 AM ET

Will Linehan still be the HC on October 1, 2008? The owners need to do something soon before he totally destroys what is left of the morale and therefore the team. I did not think any coach would be gone before Kiffin yet now it looks like Linehan is incapable of handling the heat of being a Head Coach.

September 26, 2008  09:08 AM ET

As a Rams fan I was in Linehan's corner last year when the OLine got trashed with injuries, now its just obvious that he needs to go. And while we're at it, Rosenbloom needs to sell the team and the new owner needs to gut the front office and start over.

Thank god hockey is only a few weeks away.

Why is he even talking? Part of the reason their line sucks so bad is that hey had to pay so much to him due to his holdout. You were a fool for wanting to resign with them anyway. Bulger has done nothing the last 2 years, maybe someone else can get you guys jump started.

September 26, 2008  09:11 AM ET

maybe if he would run the damn ball and help his QB then he would not of got benched....

I kinda feel bad for Steven Jackson. If Parcells would have picked him, instead of Julius Jones, he would be running behind one of the best O-Lines in the NFL. Now, look at him..
