Tim Tebow's news conference ended, but he wasn't ready to stop talking. Dejection shone through his bloodshot eyes and weak voice, but he replied to each and every question after Saturday's 31-30 loss to Mississippi. He answered the last one. But he didn't leave the podium. "I just want to say one thing," he began. "To the fans and everyone in Gator Nation," he trailed off. He paused. Then he launched into a passionate promise. "I'm sorry, extremely sorry," he said. "We were hoping for an undefeated season. That was my goal. It's something that's never been done here. But I will promise you one thing. A lot of good will come out of this. "You will never see any player in the country play as hard as I will play the rest of the season. You will never see someone push the rest of the team as hard as I will push the rest of the season. You will never see a team play harder than we will the rest of the season. God bless."

Oh, that's what you were saying. Gator 1, Murdoc, some tomato juice and an Advil and you guys will be alright. After y'all get over that hangover, I'd like to welcome you guys back to the topsy-turvy world of college football. HA!

Nicely done Tim Tebow...
and this is a college kid.
Talk about love for the game, not just about a multi-million dollar contract and it all being about "ME ME ME"
Hopefully this attitude not only carries over to the next level, should he goe there, but that high school kids see this and start to follow it.

oh gag me with a stick. Open season campaigning for the Heisman has begun.

September 28, 2008  11:52 AM ET

Give me a freakin' break! Timmy's little speach makes me want to vomit! "You will never see any player in the country play as hard as I will play the rest of the season...For I am Timbo, Lord of the Swamp!" He just lost to Ole Miss, and he still doesn't get it. Arrogant and clueless is a bad combination.

September 28, 2008  12:14 PM ET

It's almost like he's a politician. Wow.

September 28, 2008  12:28 PM ET

lmao...no slack for the Tebownator??
fair enough--

how good a place kicker do they (not?) have to go for it on that 4th?
i thought it was a good call to go for it at the time, but thats why i wouldnt (even be asked to) coach pop warner..

I couldn't agree more.

Did you see the lines he threw up when Meyer was accused of running up the score against Miami?

Way to defend your mom on the playground there Tebow.

Now this?

Tebow I appreciate the effort. I'll give you an A for that. But now you are a liar. Because I'm sure that in the history of college football, someone has worked harder than you, and players will work harder than you in the future too.

Just admit that the Heisman wasn't supposed to be yours, and after you lost the Bowl game against Michigan, all the **** kissing got you nothing.

A politician for the Mediocracy party

I bet he borrowed Palin's speechwriter. "The season is not over! We can still win the title! After all, I can see the Orange Bowl from my house."

September 28, 2008  01:41 PM ET

Timmy, you played hard. Gave it everything you had, it just wasn't good enough to beat a team that hasn't won an SEC road game in 2years!

Why would you inject national politics in this? Oklahoma will vote Republican like always so your vote won't matter.

You need to remind your team that the season doesn't end in November this year.

Because some people have a sense of humor. Like I do about my team's uncanny ability to lose bowl games. I've heard this year they're going to start auctioning off the spot against Oklahoma to the highest bidder. Teams will pay a fortune for the guaranteed W.

September 28, 2008  04:11 PM ET

It wasn't Tebow's fault but it was good of him to step up here and take the blame.

The blame should fall on the one who called the fourth down play. The whole stadium knew that the call would be Tebow up the middle. It was too obvious.

"A bit over the top, but good performance"

...says his drama instructior...

Prove It: I was thinking the same thing -- is he trying for a Heisman or an Oscar?

September 28, 2008  06:03 PM ET

Believe it or not I was in the Swamp and I laughed my **** off!!! LOL. My fiance was upset, but it's freaking football. Upset weekend. USC,FL, GA, **** happens.
p.s I think tebow is a ****!

September 28, 2008  07:54 PM ET

Jeezis H. Kryste. That's the last thing LSU needs to see in the swamp. Tebow, a missionary on a mission----like Jimmy Swaggart.

Not sure I spelled his last name correctly I have sinned against Jimmy.

Is Tim Tebow a rufy-slipper or what?

September 28, 2008  09:31 PM ET
