06:32 AM ET 10.02 | Notre Dame tight end Will Yeatman faces jail time after prosecutors decided he violated a deferred-sentencing agreement with a recent arrest at an off-campus house party. Yeatman, 20, was arrested Sept. 21 under suspicion of underage drinking, false informing and resisting arrest. In February, after an arrest the previous month, Yeatman entered a deferred sentencing agreement after pleading guilty to charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and reckless driving. Yeatman could have had the operating while intoxicated charge dismissed after a year if he did not "commit any criminal offenses during the term of this agreement," according to the plea. But prosecutors charged Yeatman with minor consuming, a Class C misdemeanor, after the most recent arrest.

I'm sure there won't be too many comments on this one. But really, there aren't too many college football programs out there whose fans have any right to mock Notre Dame. This unfortunately happens everywhere. I would love to rip on the Irish here, but as a USC fan I suppose I need to keep my mouth shut on the legal woes issue.

Why stop with Yeatman? The whole program should be in jail for how the program has been so crappy over the last decade+.

I agree with EGK on this one. Listen, I love seeing ND football struggle as a UM fan, but when it comes down to young men like this, you just hope they figure things out before its too late. This kid is a good athlete in multiple sports going to a great school, hopefully he figures things out before its too late to take advantage of all that.

Yea, I think you're right. Picking on ND has lost some of its zeal for the TRUTH. I will wait until the Weis firing debacle.

The Warden - (shakes head) You of all people should know this kid has a real problem. Just like your boy Grady.

Jail time might be good for him. I know if I had to keep my nose clean for a year to stay out of more trouble, it would be a no brainer.

October 2, 2008  10:23 AM ET

I bet he though, " ya know this is just a house party I'll be cool, we play football here, they won't mess with too much."

Only he forgot the cops only love ya when you win...

The arrogance of many blue chip college athletes knows no bounds and yet if you don't take a chance on a few of them you cannot compete at a high level (where the money is). In my opinion ND is caught in the middle. They want the money but not the scandals. I don't think you can have it both ways. They need to decide which is more important to them and follow that path.

October 2, 2008  11:19 AM ET

Come on Yeatman, you go to ND, its an Ivy League School dumb a**. You're supposed to be smart to go there. Get your crap together.

dude, Grady didn't repeat his mistake like that moron Yeatman. The kid has no self control. And what is it with ND and all it's drinking problems? I still think playing for Weis will drive you to drink.

Keep your **** wired tight at all times and tow the line... at a minimum.... what an idiot.

October 2, 2008  12:25 PM ET

Ever been to South Bend? I know why they drink, its all there is to do....

Losing to Appalachian State will have the same effect!

October 2, 2008  12:38 PM ET

Wow our law enforcement is really saving lives and making our communities such a better place. 20 year old college kids drinking alcohol at a house party and killing kittens...no way!

October 2, 2008  12:46 PM ET

Dont worry the Pope will get him off

This kid needs to realize that LIFE is more important than football...he risked his life and that of others...I'd rather his family visit him in jail as opposed to the morgue...

HAHA!!! My 4 year old niece has better comebacks!

Is that all you have? App State? If you are dissing anyone, you are dissing App St by assuming the 3X Lower Bowl Div National Champs is a crappy team.

Mr. Malarkey, let me just tell you that Michigan football, like any other team, will lose. Bringing up App State doesn't really phase me. What would phase me if UM played poorly for more than a decade like Notre Dame and only lives off of their tradition. When was ND's last big win against a quality ranked opponent? I can tell you when Michigan's last win against a quality ranked opponent...

Okay, ND had bad coaches from Holtz to Weis, but think of this meeeeechigaaaan is only 6 or 7 games ahead for the overall winning %. I'll bet by 2010 ND has it back.

Yeah, your team got lucky. Wisconsin couldn't play 60 mins of football. That's your big win this year.

We'll see how this year ends. They might win 5 or 6 games this year :) I know new coach, new system & not the right players........

"you are dissing App St by assuming the 3X Lower Bowl Div National Champs is a crappy team."

I think he's saying the number 5th ranked team that lost at home to a lower bowl div team is the crappy team.

People always speak before completing there research, but I love the Warden, without you I wouldn't read this blog, keep up the work, baby. I know it is not fair to state certain things, but to my calculation the BCS has been in existance since 1998. So, my question is, "How many times has Michigan been to a BCS Bowl game and won?"

Jan. 1, 1998 Rose Washington State W 21-16 Lloyd Carr
Jan. 1, 1999 Citrus Arkansas W 45-31 Lloyd Carr
Jan. 1, 2000 Orange Alabama W 35-34 Lloyd Carr
Jan. 1, 2001 Citrus Auburn W 31-28 Lloyd Carr
Jan. 1, 2002 Citrus Tennessee L 17-45 Lloyd Carr
Jan. 1, 2003 Outback Florida W 38-30 Lloyd Carr
Jan. 1, 2004 Rose Southern California L 14-28 Lloyd Carr
Jan. 1, 2005 Rose Texas L 37-38 Lloyd Carr
Dec. 28, 2005 Alamo Nebraska L 28-32 Lloyd Carr
Jan. 1, 2007 Rose USC L 18-32 Lloyd Carr
Jan. 1, 2008 Capital 1 Florida W 41-35 Lloyd Carr

So, I take it you won 2 more than my team. I can live with that, but your recent history is no better than mine. Just a few points I wanted to make.
