Byrnes backs off no-trade stance

On the radio in the past couple of weeks, Eric Byrnes has made mention of the no-trade clause that was included in the contract extension he signed last year, verbally wielding it like a hammer to essentially say that he ain't going nowhere this winter. But Byrnes seemed to back off those comments before departing the clubhouse on the final day of the season. Whether or not the Diamondbacks will actually try to trade him -- and whether they can find a match with another team by either taking on someone else's big contract or eating some of his salary -- well, that remains to be seen. But Byrnes did seem to say that he wouldn't just shoot it down without consideration.

You wouldn't trade for the fielding version of Barry Zito? Maybe San Fran will reunite the two overrated dopes.
