07:06 AM ET 10.03 | After saying earlier in the week that tailback Kordell Young might be done for the season because of lingering problems in his surgically repaired left knee, head coach Greg Schiano left open the possibility after practice yesterday that Young may play Saturday. "Kordell practiced two days in a row, so we'll see what role, if any, he plays Saturday," Schiano said. "I'm not sure yet." Asked if he liked what he saw of the third-year sophomore in practice, Schiano said he did. "He looked pretty good, yeah," he said. After starting the opener and rushing for 94 yards and a touchdown, Young has missed the past three games. Schiano said the injury is not to the repair in Young's knee and that it's an entirely different injury. He has declined to elaborate.

Nothing like throwing caution into the wind. Your season being on the line, may as well play your re-constructed knee and see if lasts the season.

This is a shame for RU and Young. So basically, the future of the Scarlet Knights fell apart in '07 when Young first ripped his knee up in a blow-out versus a I-AA opponent. Had this kid, who had the potential to fill in for Ray Rice with no problem. RU's offense would not be its present 1-dimensional mess and this weekend's matchup with WVU would be a "big game". Instead we'll have a laugher.

eh, maybe, but the reality is that with or without Rice, Teel has been awful...also RU's defense has been far from stellar...

Looks like Schiano and Rutgers is done. Should surprise no one.
