T.O. rips Keyshawn

Some players say they never read the newspapers or listen to television analysts, but Dallas receiver Terrell Owens obviously isn't one of them. Owens caught some flak from ESPN's Tom Jackson, Keyshawn Johnson, and Cris Carter for his comments following the Cowboys' loss to the Redskins last Sunday, and it was Johnson in particular whom Owens set his sights on. "He is the ultimate underachiever on that panel," Owens told reporters in Dallas before reminding them that he's the reason Johnson is no longer playing in the NFL. "Everybody is aware when I was brought to Dallas he was the one they let go to get me here."

BURN!!!!

You know, I have no problem with what he said. Keyshawn is an underachiever on that panel. ESPN has really watered down the talent level with some of their athletes turned sportscasters. He lacks any real insight and provides little meaningful input, and when he does actually say something intelligent (which appears to be given to him) he grins like an idiot. My favorite Keyshawn comment is when he said "you have to have to score to put points on the board". Thanks Keyshawn, now go back to your coloring books.

It appears they are both underachievers right now.

Maybe he and Sharpe can practice staying in the lines together.

ESPN's coverage has indeed gone downhill since they let Sterling Sharpe walk... letting Stu, Jaws, and Ditka take over Prime Time was another travesty...

That is so true....And not to mention that it is so terribly obvious that Keyshawn is bitter for being cut from the Boys' for TO...Week after week he picks against them, and yes, granted, they do NEED to win a playoff game to garner the respect they are looking for, but at least the other guys acknowledge that on paper they are a really good team. Keyshawn goes off on them week after week and it's painfully embarrassing to watch.

Why has there been sooo much changeover on ESPN NFL coverage over the last couple of years? Why do they keep trying to force feed us some of these analysts? M Irvin in M Irvin out, Emmit on the panel, now Emmit on location, Trent Dilfer in Ditka in, C Carter In, D Patrick out??? And on and on.....I do like C Carter. That was a good move, but there are way too many bodies in there and the rotating chairs reminds me of a game of musical chairs? Why don't they just leave well enough alone? CBS is my Pre Game Choice!!! Those guys are great!

Very bitter, he needs to hide it better. What ESPN needs to do is bring back Michael Irvin.

Well Keyshawn picked the dallas over Washington and he also picked dallas this week. So week after week he picks against them?

O.k., if he would have picked Cinci over Dallas he would have been shot on site by Tom Jackson

TO has a point. But like others have said above, ESPN coverage team and the studio team isn't up to par. The Monday Night Team is 1/3 garbage. Who does the little weasel guy have blackmail photos of to keep his broadcasting job for example..

October 5, 2008  10:51 AM ET

Did Owens mention his own alligator arms on some passes? Keyshawn was/is always going to voice his opinion when asked. Owens will always voice his opinion about himself whether he is asked or not.

October 5, 2008  10:58 AM ET

When diva receivers fight... the public wins. Keyshawn does need to shut up though. You'd think before the season when he was working the draft (before he was cut my Carolina) and had to eat crow he would've learned. I'm sure you all remember him pimping Carolina's pick of the USC receiver (who's name escapes me) and talking about how they were going to dominate and he was looking forward to mentoring him. Yeah owned on national TV.

Ketshawn isn't upset about TO taking his job (if not TO, someone else would have).
He is upset about the whole Parsells situation, and blames TO.
Right or wrong, he blames TO for Parsells getting canned.

October 5, 2008  11:08 AM ET

This story is old, Keyshawn has been a hater, every since he was not given the money he thought he deserved, we did that with Glenn. And what did we get?

I know Keyshawn was jumping with glee last week when Dallas finally lost.

No, my favorite quote was from last week...'why do we always have to talk about the Cowboys, can't we talk about (insert team here, he named about 5)...', because everyone else was giving the opinion about the game, dummy, but you had nothing intelligent to say!

October 5, 2008  11:08 AM ET

Keyshawn never had a big mouth or challenged teammates. And he NEVER, NEVER asked for the ball or wrote a book about it.

October 5, 2008  11:10 AM ET

The 'Boys should handle the poor Bengals, but drop some more games to Division rivals, NY, Phil, or Wash and watch the recriminations start to fly. TO's infantile comments and behaviors in years past will surely come home to roost as he ages and loses his former athletic ability.

The only match for TO's stupid comments are the drunken comments made by the Cowboys owner about replacing Coach Johnson with Crotch Switzer.

October 5, 2008  11:12 AM ET

Who cares if Keyshawn isnt the best sports announcer... The point of the article is simple, TO cant even except criticism and has to attack tv announcers when what they all said was completely true. His life is about pushing blame anywhere but on himself and still some of you support him. Its just rediculous

October 5, 2008  11:16 AM ET

I normally don't agree with what Owens, but he's right. Very hypocritical of Johnson.
