Selig warns owners on ticket prices

Given the state of the economy, Commissioner Bud Selig warned team owners Saturday not to "get too cocky" and overprice game tickets. "Because you do pay a price," he said. Speaking before Game 3 of the National League division series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Milwaukee Brewers, Selig called 2008 a "phenomenal success" despite a decline in attendance that Selig attributed to bad weather and high gas prices. But Selig acknowledged concern about a prolonged economic downturn. "I think anybody in every business is concerned," he said.

Cubs suck!

So do the Brewers. Face it, the Phillies and Dodgers are clearly the two best teams in the National League; for fans of any of the others to rip on anyone else is just laughable.

Does this mean I don't have to take out a second mortgage on my house to take my kids to a Major League game? No wonder Minor League baseball set it's attendance record this year.

Santana may well be the last 20 million dollar man in sports for a long time.

Luxury box holders are dropping like flies. Advertisers will be reigned in by the board of directors...

So ends the third guilded age of America.

Looking like my Phillies ticket will be about $145.00, another $20.00 for parking. Grab a couple $5.00 hotdogs and wash them down with a couple $8.00 beers. My grandfather used to be a season ticket holder and took me to my 1st game. I don't think he'd would comprehend spending over $200.00 to go to a game.
