It's a feeling - not necessarily hard evidence - but something tells me Roger Clemens is going to attempt a comeback next season.

It's a feeling - not necessarily hard evidence - but something tells me I don't care!

He needs to fade away into blissful reitirment and leave well enough alone. Gosh, this will be a train wreck in the making if he tries to make a return

October 5, 2008  09:47 AM ET

He's under the same delusion that Bonds was under in 08.....no one will sign this tool.

Stay on the sofa please.

Stay away Roidger!

October 5, 2008  10:21 AM ET

This article is absolutely correct! A feeling is NOT hard evidence. Good work recognizing that. Next step: realizing that means you DON'T write the article.

October 5, 2008  10:52 AM ET

the boston globe?
is this a major paper or a tabloid?

With which team and league? In order to come back there has to be a team that would want him to pitch for them - sans PEDs.

October 5, 2008  10:56 AM ET

If he felt bad/insulted/left out when the Yankees did not mention him during the closing of Yankee stadium how will he feel when no team will publicly support his "return"?

Roger, in case you missed the court of public opinion has ruled on your legacy already. And news is not what you wanted it to be.

October 5, 2008  11:27 AM ET

I think he will find a warm welcome from the same team that picked up Barry Bonds

Isn't it so wonderful that so many people in this world are so perfect that when some one of greatness screws up one time that we never have to consider forgiveness? Let the first one who is perfect toss the first stone. THe rest should ask forgiveness for your greater than thou attitudes.
This is just like when they banned Pete Rose for life. That is when I stopped following baseball. The Hall of fame without Pete Rose in it will always be a hall of shame.

"1. Wonder if Brian Giles is surfing today"

Why isn't T&R on this story? Oh yeah, Giles isn't a Yankee. Never mind...

October 5, 2008  11:37 AM ET

I think this guy is right....and man, Clemens will probably pitch pretty well for the Long Island Ducks....they don't have very stringent PED testing, do they?

October 5, 2008  11:46 AM ET

And who exactly would want to take on the circus that would be Roger's return?

October 5, 2008  12:01 PM ET

What GM in their right mind would sign Roidger?
Hide your underage country music trainwrecks!

October 5, 2008  12:14 PM ET

This has absolutely no place being in Truth&Rumors. This is from Nick Cafardo's column in the Boston Globe, part of the typical knee-jerk reaction, yellow-journalism Northeast sports coverage; just silly, useless, ignorant mocks/questions about baseball (also including "wonder if Brian Giles is surfing today"). This string of comments will reach 1,000 today and it's a non-rumor, even worse than a non-story. Just who at fannation is selecting these these days? This used to be a respectable part of the site.

October 5, 2008  12:25 PM ET

It's just a feeling, even though the article itself is evidence, that the BostonGlobe is full of tools.
It's the playoffs and this is all they have?
