Calvin Johnson is considered by many teams to be the best player available in the draft, and the Redskins are smitten with him as well, sources said, mulling over options to trade up to get him (the team has shopped cornerback Shawn Springs to Detroit, which has the second overall pick, again in recent weeks).

Yeah...that's JUST what we need. Lose one of our good corners to pick up yet ANOTHER good receiver. We already have Santana Moss, Brandon lloyd and Randall-El..What do we need Calivn Johnson for? The ONLY thing missing from our offense is QB consistency so Jason Campbell better brign it this year. Leave the D alone!

Pointless for the Redskins.....prob just anohter smokescreen as well

April 25, 2007  08:56 AM ET

Pork Skins, Potato Skins and Redskins. They all give me gas!

April 25, 2007  09:01 AM ET

Why would anyone want Shawn Springs? He's way past his prime.

April 25, 2007  09:14 AM ET

The Redskins need at receiver with some size but as much as I would love to have Johnson, this wouldnt be the rightmove. Okoye is a better fit for the Skins needs right now.

April 25, 2007  09:23 AM ET

no one want the skins leftovers - there are buyers of other teams trash - not sellers.

April 25, 2007  09:52 AM ET

Wrong move. The offence can score its the defence that can not stop the other teams. Draft some pass rush.

April 25, 2007  10:04 AM ET

Redskins need to get with the program. I love my Skins, but we need some "D". Pass rusher is much needed!

April 25, 2007  10:26 AM ET

No way in the world do the Lions take Shawn Springs and the #6 pick for the #2 pick. Springs is older and injury prone, he is also more of a man cover guy and not a good fit for the Cover 2 scheme that they run in Detriot.. (notice they sent Dre Bly to Denver for that same reason).

They should sit at 6 and hope for Gaines Adams. If he is not there, and he won't be. then trade down for someone that wants Peterson, Quinn or Landry and take another defensive player while picking up picks. They have 1 pick day one and need more than that.

Grab DE Anderson, or DT Branch while picking up more picks.

This move would cost the skins a ton of money, given that Johnson will try to get the highest dollar (and should). It won't make a difference if we don't have a QB to get our 4 great recievers the ball. I'm still not sold on Campbell being the future! D-line first, either Okoye at #6 or move down for more picks and grab J. Anderson, J. Moss, Tank Tyler, A. Carriker, or Charles Johnson...there are plenty out there!

April 25, 2007  10:46 AM ET

Trade troubled safety Sean Taylor and the sixth pick to Detroit for the 2nd pick so the skins can draft Quinn! That way they'll have 2 QB 1st rd bust in the last 3 yrs. It really doesn't matter who the skins draft or trade, they will be lucky to get 5 wins again this season cause Synder is the worst GM the NFL has ever had and Gibbs still lives in his glory days (that was 20 yrs ago) get a real coach not somebody from Nascar. Why didn't you get Jeff Gordon to coach. A **** TEAM NEEDS A **** COACH! 1 Question/1 Comment: Do the "dead"skins lead the NFL in average age? my guess is "yeah" since they only have 3 draft picks every year. And finally until next time, THANKS FOR PUTTING IN THE FINAL VOTE TO MAKE THE DALLAS COWBOYS A FRANCHISE, I'D SAY IT WAS WORTH GIVING UP THE RIGHTS TO THAT "SORRY ****" SONG "TO **** WITH REDSKINS"

April 25, 2007  10:49 AM ET

THAT'S "A **** TEAM NEEDS A **** COACH" AND THAT SORRY SONG IS "TO H*LL WITH THE DEADSKINS"

WHERE U AT SKINFANS----I **** HEAR U

April 25, 2007  11:06 AM ET

The skins are a bad team they think they know what they are doing but they really dont they dont know anything they will never get calvin johnson n or will the ever be a good team

April 25, 2007  11:25 AM ET

Who is this joke saying Campbell is a bust? The guy was thrown in in the middle of a teribble season with rediculous expectations and played very solid. Learn your facts before you post something as ignorant as that. Yeah, the skins have made some bad moves...but where we are hurting the most is in the redzone. The Redskins need a reciever over 3 feet tall to go after some jump-balls in the endzone. As far as the D-line goes....peoepl seem to forget that Andre Carter made some huge in the second half of last season and will be the pass-rusher we need. Also, rookie Kedrik Golston made some plays as well. Our defence is fine, the same unit went to the playoffs two years ago, everythign just went wrong last season but we'll be back. I support the Johnson move, and when he puts up over 1,000 recieving yards and 10-15 touchdowns his rookie year you'll agree too. This is a can't miss guy, so trading next years picks isn't a bad idea, considering there wont be anyone like this guy for a long time.

April 25, 2007  11:26 AM ET

I think the skins are going to be alot better than people expect this year. We had many key injuries last year not to mention a new offensive system. The offsense played really well the last 7 weeks of the season. We had the 4th best rushing attack in the NFL last year (with Portis being hurt or out). The defense really struggled, but alot of that had to do with key injuries. I'm not really sure why everyone is so worried about what we do. Worry about your own d*mn team. HAIL TO THE MOTHER F**KING REDSKINS! **** DALLAS!

April 25, 2007  11:28 AM ET

I smell Cowboy fan stink in here... Who invited them Steers, whoops, I meant the other... By the way, the team that plays in the Nation's capital is the REAL America's Team!

April 25, 2007  11:28 AM ET

DRAFTINSIDER...your ID name your using must really make you feel special. I love it when people post remarks and type like 5 year olds using the internet for the first time. U NO WAT i MEEN? You make no sense and may even be a bit slow. But hey, thanks for your time, moron

April 25, 2007  11:32 AM ET

That may be a good move since Brandon LLoyd is in the dog house and maybe on his way out anyway.
