Can White Sox grounds crew slow down Rays?
The home-field advantage for many teams includes soaking the infield to limit the effectiveness of a faster visiting ballclub. The White Sox's grounds crew wouldn't accidentally leave the water hose on overnight, would they? "Of course, teams do that," Tampa Bay first baseman Carlos Pena said. "At Yankee Stadium sometimes it's kind of soaked. That's understandable. We have a fast team, a team that uses baserunning as a tool. I know these guys like the hard surface. It wouldn't be surprising if it's a little wet out there [Sunday]." Speedy center fielder B.J. Upton is also wary of Sunday's field conditions.

Cold showers, wet fields, wind tunnels ... all part of the game. Doesn't look like it's gonna make a difference for Chicago, though. It's all over but the singing in this one.

There should be no excuse for the field to be in anything other than great shape. The guy in charge of the grounds crew for the White Sox is considered to be tops in game, he was actually the one in charge of the field reconstruction this past year of Wrigley Field, which had the worst conditions in all of baseball. So, we shall see what Ozzie has up his sleeve.
