WVU's White expected to play

After exiting early Saturday without returning, quarterback Patrick White was expected to practice as usual and play this weekend against visiting Syracuse, West Virginia coach Bill Stewart said yesterday. "He got dinged up a little bit ... hit in the head," he said of White's third-quarter injury in a 24-17 victory against Rutgers. "He was a little woozy. He had his whereabouts, for the most part. Just precautionary measures. "He's not in any kind of concussion state at all. He should be very much fine by this weekend. If everything progresses as we think it will, he will be in the lineup on Saturday."

It's Syracuse. If this guy is dinged up you can hold him out and still beat on the Cuse.

I'd start him , but only let him run a couple of series in both halfs, just to keep him active. After that I'd use Brown for the rest of the game. This would give White a break and rest, and give Brown more gametime experience. He is fully capable of guiding the Mounties to a win.
Pat's gonna need fresh legs against Auburn...and a clear mind.

The thing is that WVU can still win the Big East. USF has a conference loss to Pitt and if WVU can run the tables in conference that they have the title. The need to win out and get back into the top 20 but I think that Auburn is a tough win for this team.

I love Pat White, and without him playing uninjured week to week, we cannot win the Big East.
Doesn't matter if the opponent is Syracuse or South Florida. He's our leader. Go WVU.

If WVU can't beat Syracuse without Pat White, they don't deserve to win.

Agreed, WVU can definitely win against Syracuse with Brown at QB...BUT, the suspect defense had better !$@# well show up and be ready to knock some heads off for each and every game or, Auburn, USF and Pitt are going to run over WVU like so much flattened roadkill.

Down year for WVU, but they should still be able to beat Syracuse with the third string quarterback playing haha
