Blame mounts in Houston

Wouldn't you love Bob McNair to start holding people accountable? Wouldn't you love it if he acted like he cares as much as all those people who write the newspaper and phone the talk shows? Do you think he understands he???s why this football team stinks? In the end, he's the guy in charge and every stinking loss starts with him. This morning as you're cursing Gary Kubiak and Sage Rosenfels, don't forget that McNair is responsible for the NFL's worst franchise. Do you think Jerry Jones would put up with this kind of failure? Of course he wouldn't. Don't you wonder if McNair noticed those empty seats at kickoff Sunday afternoon? There were thousands of them, all of them paid for. To pay for seats and not show up speaks volumes about what people think of this franchise. If people stop writing checks, things might finally change.

Just maybe the empty seats has to do with displaced Hurricane Ike "survivors"

October 6, 2008  08:34 AM ET

Maybe some people in Houston wish Hurricane Ike would have displaced Bob McNair.

October 6, 2008  09:37 AM ET

Well, McNair definitely displaced his brain. Maybe when he finds it, he will start making changes that actually improve the team.

Two games in a row they should have won. Sounds like the the texans are laying the ground work for a fired coach.

October 6, 2008  10:33 AM ET

Rosenfels doesnt know how to handle on to the ball, they had the win towards the end but he was unaware of presence behind him, got the ball knocked out, Colts turned that into the win, they woulda had it if that qb knew how to handle the ball...way to go for another blown Houston game that could been won.

A little over 4 mins and you had a 17 point lead, theres a reason Rosenfels been around.
Lot of people will say enough words about Rosenfel so I don't need to repeat any,
Colts did it to the Vikings and added Houston to the list of games they should have lost.
I tip my hat to the Colts and QB Manning, it takes a QB with smarts to win.
Another great melt down, I love it!!!

I can see someone sneaking up and knocking out the ball before the pass --- it happens. But, what was that hurdle-attempt? What was he thinking?

Not a funny joke.

While yes, they did blow their second game in a row. But C'mon, he played a hell of a game and everyone is concentrating on his fumbles. When is the last season you've even seen the Texans compete for a win?

He was trying to channel Randall Cunningham. You can't blame the guy for trying, it was a gutsy move. Now just because it's gutsy doesn't mean it was smart but he tried to make a play. Had it worked, they would've shown the highlight on every halftime show and sports center rerun for a week. It was nice to see Slaton get some quality touches and 2 TD's. Too bad it resulted in a loss. They'll win a few games soon though.

It could be worse, you could have Norv Turnover as your head coach.

October 6, 2008  09:58 PM ET

Hank, I agree.

October 6, 2008  09:59 PM ET

Accountmenot, how many rings do you have? Turner has 2.

October 7, 2008  12:06 AM ET

NEED BETTER PLAY CALLING!!

October 7, 2008  11:19 AM ET

They can't choke like that. Who do they think they are? The Chicago Cubs?

He thought that because his name sounds like an ancillary character in Hansel & Gretel that he actually possessed magical powers.

I totally disagree...stratight up trade, Herm Edwards for Gary Kubiak.

Let's get something straight. The Texans are still developing. They made horrible decisions their first 3 years and are just now getting on track. The have built a defense that is still missing some major starters and they only have one really good receiver. Their TE is good, Slaton has been the steal of the entire draft so far and Rosenfels was killing the Colts till he had his brain swapped on the bench with Ryan Leaf's.

The Texans have made some of the better personnel decisions in the last 3 years (See passing up on Vince Young, the $50 million dollar punt returner (aka Reggie Bush), drafted Slaton, Ryans, Mario Williams etc. They have had a horrible O-line that needed to adjust to a zone blocking scheme and they still require a little more talent on offense to get over the hump. But man, come on. I see 49er fans and Saints fans bashing the Texans. Give me a break. SF is still 2-3 years away from being able to spell compete and the Saints have channeled the spirit of Mike Martz and have turned into the greatest show on turf II. Ofcourse, when you can't run the ball I guess you HAVE to throw it.
