Lions will listen to offers for Williams

The Roy Williams trade talk heated up Sunday at Ford Field. But the Lions receiver was the only one who heard it during a frustrating game in which Williams, quarterback Jon Kitna and the entire offense seemed out of sync. Williams said it came from fans sitting behind the Lions' sideline during the 34-7 loss to Chicago. "You didn't hear any 'Fire Millen' chants," he said. "You heard 'Trade Roy Williams' chants." The NFL trading deadline is 4 p.m. Oct. 14, and speculation of Williams' departure is nearing a fever pitch. Officially, the Lions said Sunday there has been no discussion about trading Williams. Coach Rod Marinelli said there has been no internal talk about trading Williams. Executive vice president Tom Lewand said the Lions are not talking to any teams about trading Williams -- but that they would listen to offers, as they would for any player.

You know, I tried to be nice to you on the first thread but it's a lost cause. You are an arrogant idiot. Unlike Mental Ray, all you want to do is put down the Cowboys and their fans. No more Mr. Nice Guy!

If the Eagles don't throw everything they have at the Lions to acquire Roy Williams, I will be very disappointed in their effort.

October 6, 2008  08:16 AM ET

Trade Roy for a draft pick. But, let Dallas still make the pick, Lions are incapable of making good ones.

This Lions team is about to be shaken up. You can definitely build around Roy, but CJ is a better young franchise type guy for the long run.

Trade Roy, Trade Kitna to New England for a third rounder.

I promise we will trade your O-line for Roy Williams and our O(h-no)-line.

Hes coming to the NFC east one way or the other......I just hope he comes to Dallas

October 6, 2008  09:18 AM ET

If a team like the Titans picked him up they would automatically be considered a Superbowl Team.... They have an elite Defense and he would upgrade the WR position bigtime. The titans are winning with a bunch of nobody's so why not give up a first rounder to try and get deeping into the playoffs...

DUDE YOUR A TURD!!! A third rounder for both of them? Go run into a wall ok :)

They'll be a bidding war for this guy like you haven't seen for awhile and it will involve most of the teams in the NFC east. Gonna have to pay the piper to get Roy.

October 6, 2008  09:45 AM ET

he's a really good player...he can go anywhere....

October 6, 2008  10:15 AM ET

How about to Cleveland for Brady Quinn, Williams and Edwards with Winslow as a trio. it takes away any excuse for Anderson to use for poor play The Lions desperately need Quinn. Heck, give them Williams and a 2nd rounder in next years draft....

Yea but Im sure money will pay a big factor, maybe the main factor if going anywhere, so well see which team pumps up the money.
