Questions surround USC's QBs
USC moved full speed ahead Tuesday with its game plan for Arizona State, but there remains some question about who will run the offense when the eighth-ranked Trojans play the Sun Devils on Saturday at the Coliseum. Quarterback Mark Sanchez suited up in full pads for the workout, jogged at times from one part of the field to another and tossed a few passes during warmups, but team trainers directed him to the sideline to rest his sore left knee. Meanwhile, sophomore transfer Mitch Mustain continued to take first-team snaps in preparation for what could be his first start for the Trojans. "I'm going to prepare to go even if he comes back," Mustain said. Mustain looked sharp during part of the workout but struggled at times with fatigue. "Tuesdays are never perfect," offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian said. During a blitz period, Mustain was under fire behind an offensive line that was without senior left guard Jeff Byers, who sat out to rest a sore knee. "Spotty," was how Coach Pete Carroll described Mustain's performance during the drill. "Guys have to protect him better."

Fatigued? If he ain't ready to go as young as he is, and in a program like SC's where he should be preparing himself for championships, bench him. But that's just one scouts' report. Hopefully it's not true.

Seems in recent times, some nifty DNA sampling has solved some of the questions about USC QB's.

Mustain will be good. Before the season I thought he should start and even though Sanchez has played brilliantly, Mustain will hold his own if he gets the chance to start this weekend.

Wouldn't go as far as championships buddy. Right Now I think that belongs to the Big 12/SEC unless they all destory themselves in confrence play.

Why not? Doesn't Ohio State prepare for championship caliber play? Or is that over now?
And, secondly, he said championship, not National Championship. Right now, USC is focused on the Pac-10 Championship. The NCG will sort itself out in the process.
Regardless, USC prepares each week like it's a National Championship game. That's the way I want it, as well as the rest of the fans.

...should be preparing himself for championships ........ Note, every game that USC plays is played as if it's a championship game. It's just how they prepare, buddy.

If USC plays like they did against OSU/Oregon they have it made. Just need to keep it consistant from here on out. You're right Silars. I just misunderstood his comment. I think thats they way every team should prepare, but OSU has more issues going on than just preperation. I think its coaching and playbook issues as well that need to be imporved.
I agree with J Hova, I think Mustain, if he plays, will turn out to be a good choice.

I disagree totally. If they prepared every game like a championship they wouldn't lose to teams like UCLA, Standford and Oregon State. It's not how they prepare, buddy.

Preparing and getting it done are two different things. If you read how USC practices, their mindset, how they're coached....... you couldn't disagree. It's a fact..... this is how they practice. There are always bumps along the road. Does Ohio or Arkansas practice to do ok in a game or practice to lose? No, one practices to win. But, it doesn't always happen.
