The NFL has sent the Oakland Raiders a formal letter regarding owner Al Davis's accusation that the Patriots tampered with Randy Moss before acquiring him in a trade in April of 2007. The Raiders could be subject to penalties for the public accusation. The story was first reported by the National Football Post. ESPN.com has more details on the NFL's letter, stating that the Raiders could be stripped of draft picks or cash. The ESPN.com piece states that the NFL is saying that if Davis has evidence that the Patriots tampered, he should present it. Late last week, Patriots coach Bill Belichick denied the allegation.

This should be interesting. I feel bad for the Raider fans. Al should just go away and let the Raiders become a football team again.

The NFL should be asking for papers of mental competency on their owner.

If they really tampered, then Al needs to give the NFL the proof. Simple. If he doesn't have proof, then he needs to be fined - a very large one.

I think Davis was tampering with himself!

Wow, did he fall face first into a fire?

i hope they do take draft picks away from us. we deserve it with that bum **** Al Davis in charge. All we do is waste picks anyways. Although I liked the JaMarcus and Darren picks we will find a way to alienate them and make them leave as free agents after they have had 7 coaches in 7 years and are the worst team in the league still.

I'd like to see the Raiders play the Central Penn Piranha, which is an amateur football team here in PA. In 14 seasons they are 200-12 including 132-1 at home. They have been ranked in the top 10 nationally in 11 out of the last 13 seasons, have 5 league championships and 2 national championships. They play in the NAFL (North American Football League) and they play on City Island here in Harrisburg. The first playoff game is tomorrow night at Susquehanna High School (The Fish Tank is being renovated) vs. The York Razorbacks. Razorbacks are 9-4 and Piranha are 10-0 so this is pretty much an instant win for the Burg. Sorry to get off topic but I'm telling you these guys could beat the Raiders and if you are in Central PA then go and check them out.

Oh Al...
<shakes head sadly>

You're like the Hank Steinbrenner of football.

October 10, 2008  09:28 AM ET

Ha! Al Davis looks like Dr. Evil in that picture.

October 10, 2008  09:35 AM ET

Why does T&R subject us to rat face every morning? That's not very nice.

October 10, 2008  09:45 AM ET

Put up or shut up Al, put up or shut up.

October 10, 2008  09:53 AM ET

He really looks like the old man in the movie "SAW"

After seeing Al's picture, I know what I'm going as for Halloween!

Don't give Goodell the evidence, Al! He'll just burn it and sweep the crime under the rug the way he did with Spygate. Bellicheat has his arm up Goodell's backside all the way to his shoulder.

Al should host Tales from the Crypt...they could gloss him the "Crypt Pimp"

October 10, 2008  11:18 AM ET

Nice stock photo there lol...he looks like a leper

October 10, 2008  11:18 AM ET

Wait I got it .....he's doing the Dr Evil from Austin Powers

I think Al and Jerry Jones have the same plastic surgeon. I also think the surgeon should have his license revoked because I'm pretty sure he just put Al to sleep and glued saran wrap onto his face.
