For all those University of Miami fans suffering angst over who should be the starting quarterback, the decision has been made for you. Robert Marve is still the starter, and UM coach Randy Shannon is adamant about that. Shannon said he wants Marve to get back to where he was earlier in the season -- letting others around him make the plays instead of trying to do too much himself.

Better hope he drinks his Gatorade!

October 13, 2008  09:29 AM ET

Hes still learning...give his some time

October 13, 2008  09:51 AM ET

Ok fannation, let me clue you in just a little bit..

We like marve, we like harris. We dont care who starts.

THIS is the problem: Patrick Nix, our offensive coordinator.

it's of no relevance to the worthless "U" but how bout' them bayou bengals, oops, I mean bayou **** is more like it, 51-21 jean-francois where you at? and all you Vandy' jumpers what about starting Larry Smith starting now, so much for the two sorry a** qb's nickson and adams I'm pretty sure Smith could have done that bad and still found a way to win. taste it.

Marve needs to be the starter. Miami is going to be a force to reckon with in a couple of years when all their freshmen and sophomores become juniors and seniors.

perhaps you forgot your team lost to OLE MISS a week or 2 ago? thats some sorry **** for being in a prime year, unlike the canes who are in another down year. quit your rambling, it was painful to try to comprehend. loser.

the " "worthless U" " as you like to call it has been the most dominant program in the history of the state of florida. got 5? we do. and before you go on and on about that was in the past, we've won one and played for another in this decade.

October 13, 2008  11:59 AM ET

Unfortunately, trophies can't win games. Just ask Rich Rodriguez.

October 13, 2008  12:14 PM ET

Coker really left this team in bad shape. They have so many freshmen and sophomore playing as starters, when they should be the second stringers at this point in their careers, because the juniors and seniors that should be starting now are so bad they have to be relegated to second string.

It's pretty surprising they have been as competive as they have been, but don't expect them to play 4 quarters, they simply do not have the depth for a full game. What's not surprising is the fact that Coker is still unemployed.

fifolo, did you really have to give me flashbacks? im going to have nightmares tonight lol

So what, we loss to Ole Miss. We're #5 in the country and we smoked you canes in the swamp. I love how Miami fans live in the past and keep talkin about how good things used to be. Gators sucked last year and we got our as*** handed to us by Michigan. But you know what... we improved and look where we are now. Canes sucked last year and what have ya'll done.... 3-3. Keep living in the past!

October 13, 2008  04:11 PM ET

told you that was coming.. i hear the same argument from every single **** fan.

since you dont want to "live in the past".. your title 2 years ago is obsolete.. you lost to an unranked team this year, it took you 3.5 quarters to pull away from the young miami hurricanes team that you claim is so awful ) 9-3 entering the 4th quarter isnt exactly what i would call "smoked", no where close...theres no way you should be ranked anywhere near #5. enjoy it while it lasts, until teabag chokes some more

its a shame C.U.M. (coach urban myer) and your a.d. are too scared to schedule the canes on a yearly basis

October 13, 2008  04:15 PM ET

svtjer, totally agree with your comments. But remember that we (the university with more players currently on NFL rosters) have played for 2 national titles in this decade, won one and GOT ROBBED on the second one.

October 13, 2008  04:15 PM ET

Congrats on the win, you pulled yourself from 5th to 4th in the state. Champagne all around!!! Moving on up to that deluxe apartment in the sky. Wait what about FAU, hmmmm.

A coach needs to be more then just a recruiter, unfortunately for you, Randy is not. He should be your recruiting coordinator and you should get a coach that can actually coach. until you do, your not going to develop that young talent and your not going to win much. As a gator fan, I appreciate the fact that you guys are keeping Randy. Hey we had our recruiter coach the Zookster who could recruit but could not coach. Glad that you are making the same mistake we did.

PS, in the future ask your coach to be man enough to shake a man's hand and not run like a girl, and if he has something to say, to say it to the man's face and not go crying to the media. I love that all you UM fans called Meyer classless. Anybody who actually understands what class is could readily see that it was the coach who ran from the handshake like a girl and wasn't man enough to say anything man to man to the other person that was classless. Yeah that inspires me to want to play for him. Talk all you want about titles. Here is a fact. You are in the ACC and have NEVER won nor played for your conference title yet. That is your reality now. That stuff about titles, that is NO LONGER your reality. That is your past, fading with each crushing defeat.

October 13, 2008  04:18 PM ET

PS MIA that should be UM's slogan. Missing in Action

October 13, 2008  05:05 PM ET

I live in Gainesville. Gator fans (at least the ones who feel the need to post on a UM story) are obnoxious idiots.

October 13, 2008  05:11 PM ET

that's the best you got? about as bad a performance as UM's offense. Guess you really can't argue the fact that your reality now is never playing for your conference championship.

October 13, 2008  05:13 PM ET

Gee does the ACC look at UM as their Vandy? No Vandy is actually ranked.

October 13, 2008  05:29 PM ET

2 years from now all these gator fans won't be able to say anything except damn I wish we could sign tebow to a 10 year contract.....no tebow......no team!

October 13, 2008  05:31 PM ET

The Canes are young!!! 18-20 yo KIDS starting. Shannon only 2nd year head coaching. By year 4 for him and year 2 for them.....watch out lol!!! I can smell #6 and #7 national title!

October 13, 2008  05:38 PM ET

The "baby" CANES will rise to the elite of CF once again. ETA- 2 more years. Unfortunately for UF, you will run into the eye of the Hurricane in September 2010. Mark it on your calendar. Payback will be a ****...

By the way...UF has only beaten the U once in the past 20 years....That is what we CANES fans call being DOMINATED...and while you are on the upside temporarily, you will not be able to sustain it....there is just no allure, no history, no mystique to Gainsville...but the U has all that and more...great academics and dont forget South Beach...When if comes to comparing Universities...there is no comparison to be made with an elite private school and a second rate state school....that's just a fact...
