Top recruit cancels Clemson visit
Booker T. Washington cornerback Branden Smith, who is ranked as the state's No. 1 prospect by numerous recruiting publications, said Tuesday night that he has canceled his official visit to Clemson. Smith said he has replaced Clemson with Florida State on his list of five visits, and will make a recruiting trip to watch the Seminoles play Florida on Nov. 29. Smith made his first official visit to Florida last weekend, and has trips planned for Tennessee on Oct. 25, Auburn on Nov. 15, and Georgia (undetermined).

Clemson better move quickly to replace Bowden because recruits are cancelling visits and commits are decommiting at rapid pace.

KingFootball said it all. (Or, in the vernacular, "well, duhhhhhh.....")
Coaching transitions are always hell on recruiting. Of course, if the AD had waited until the end of the year, all the non-Clemson recruiters would say to a recruit, "you know Bowden's not going to be there next year, or maybe the year after -- why go there?"

great choice of a game to visit FSU that will be all the reason he needs to commit to the Gators. only problem will being getting him on the field with Major Wright, Will Hill, and Ahmad Black on the depth chart.

Sometimes you get more than what you ask for. You fire a winning coach who is a great recruiter, you lose kids who wanted to play for him.
