Not every Buckeye believes in Pryor

Ohio State coach Jim Tressel has no doubt freshman Terrelle Pryor is the best quarterback to lead the Buckeyes. Not all of his players agree. Tight end Jake Ballard said it could help the Buckeyes' struggling offense to turn back to former starter Todd Boeckman and have him share the job with Pryor. "The senior leadership that Todd brings to the table and just how he commands the huddle would definitely help us out," Ballard said. "And he could make some big throws for us. ... I don't think a two-quarterback system would be a bad idea."

Uh oh. How dare Ballard say such things about The ONE! Not that one but the other ONE, TP! Ballard is a racist for saying such remarks about TP. Doesn't he know it's racist for any white to EVER criticize a black man? Besides, TP is the Obama of college football. He brings hope to all as well as higher buckeye ticket prices in the coming years. I bet ACORN will get a ton of non eligible voting journalists onto the heisman committee to get TP the heisman this year.

Listen, as a UM fan, I said all the right things when we were trying to land Pryor, he's just a kid, its not worth getting that excited about.

I was wrong, he is worth getting excited about. And the kids biggest strength is he seems to know his weaknesses, and want to get better. He will not only be a great college QB, but I think will be a great pro QB with the help of the OSU coaches.

Not a game goes by that I don't wish he had the winged helmet this year.

I realize, we will get our version of Terrelle next year, but I could have gone without losing to Toledo... That was worse to me than APP State...

You are ignorant....not only for trying to subliminaly put your political views in here, but for the whole post.

I'm sure Todd Boeckman is not a believer? The TRUTH predicts at least two more losses for the Luckeyes in '08. And I'm going to make a BOLD prediction that one will be against Michigan.

Did not realize you would play the race card in your comment... although it's interesting that you did so. I take it that you do not feel Ballard would be critical of playing a freshman white QB? Or, that if he did it would not be controversial because "race" would not be a factor?

Take 1 part T&R add 1 part WARDEN and shake until you upset the moral fabric that is college football.......... Well done!!!!!!!!

October 15, 2008  09:51 AM ET

Ballard's comments are probably aimed at the fact that last week TP did not establish a passing game. The Bucks did not sucsessfully hit the long ball against Purdue.

TP only had 14 attempts with 42 runing plays. Does the coaching staff have confedence in TPs ability to throw the ball? I know you have to get Beenie his touches because it can be a TD from any position on the field. But, it would help Beenie if there is a deep threat of the long ball. The coaches have to give TP a chance to get the ball down the field.

Wow the media loves to stir stuff up.

Pryor is a true freshman playing only 5 or 6 games for the Buckeyes. Do you think in that amount of time he has won over EVERY single player in the locker room? Absoutely not. But that's understood. Give the kid a chance, and a break, sheesh.

Ohio State is in a rebuilding year, just like LSU, and for the future playing Pryor this year is the best move by Tressell. I would think Tressell knows much more about this than the writer of the article, or his TE Ballard. Kudos to tressell for realizing this early on.

How fun would it be for a LSU vs Ohio State rematch in the Captial One Bowl this year!!!!

October 15, 2008  10:41 AM ET

well he won't ever be as good as VY but he gives OSU the best chance 2 win

I dont care who lines up behind the center for OSU, I just want them to expose PSU as the overrated team they are. PSU plays what might be the weakest schedule in college football and they've got a good chance to be in the nat'l championship game since they only play one real team all year and that's Ohio State.

lol... OSU plays the same schedule... So i guess they are both overrated

I imagine Ballard is worried about his draft day stock falling as less balls get thrown to him with a running QB.

If that's the case his stock will fall even further for his lack of being a "team player"

Interesting how some get a little bent out of shape when I mention THE ONE. My comment was sarcasm for those thin skinned sucknut fans that never have a sense of humor.

Btw, GO TOLEDO! Michigan losing was necessary to make the UM players understand what rock bottom feels like.

I hope you are right. Would like to see Joe Pa go out and retire with a NC. What a great ending to his storied career.

I hate to break it to you, but bama does not belong in that group. Penn St would beat bama by 2 td's. Probably LSU this year too

October 15, 2008  12:02 PM ET

that is PSU would beat LSU, just to be CRYSTAL CLEAR
