Although no official announcement has been made, it appears University of Wisconsin junior Dustin Sherer will replace struggling quarterback Allan Evridge and make his first start Saturday when the Badgers face Iowa in Iowa City. According to a source, Sherer opened practice Tuesday with the No. 1 offense and got the majority of the snaps ahead of Evridge. Evridge, a senior, started the first six games for UW (3-3, 0-3 Big Ten) but was pulled in the third quarter of the loss to Penn State after throwing an interception. He has turned the ball over eight times in three Big Ten games -- four fumbles and four interceptions.

The TRUTH has learned from his various cheese eating sources that Everidge was involved in the band hazing fiasco, he violated someone's glockensphiele

What's the point? This season is already gone. Best the Badgers can hope for is some crappy mid-level bowl game.

They are doing this so they can go to the crappy mid-level bowl rather than the crappier low-level bowl

It's really about time Evridge seems like a nice guy who tries hard but unfortunately he just isn't good enough and it showed.

Evridge is horrible. While watching him I'm thinking wow how bad must the other guys be. Playing him really makes me question how good the coach is. If the coach doesn't do a better job it's only a matter of time before he's gone.

At least this way they can get him some snaps before next season when Everidge will be gone anyways.

Why not try out some other QBs, Everidge sucks...he lost to michigan

October 15, 2008  10:11 PM ET

I dont understand why he is switching now. The hardest games in the schedule are out of the way! This guy is an idiot because instead of a good chance of going 9-3 and making a great bowl game, hes going to lose 2 more games becuase of quarterback play. I say this is a bad call. Wisconsin has 3 phenominal running backs and let them run behind those cheese eatting lineman. I say install the wing t offense!!!

That isn't the change the Badgers needed. They should be playing Clay over Hill. RB is where the change is needed. Hill is too slow to the hole and has no breakaway speed. Clay is the real deal.

...who wouldn't look good stepping in at QB after the Badgers finish the hardest part of the schedule?

Swapping QBs when the whole team is performing badly doesn't work in the pros, and it won't work in college.

Boy, seems like every school thats having a bad season this year is throwing there QB's under the bus.

hahaha Sherer had as many fumbles and ints as Evridge last saturday, in 1/3 of the time. Go Lions.
