The Chargers almost pulled off another significant trading deadline deal Tuesday, league sources said. They were in talks with the Raiders about acquiring running back Michael Bush until right up to the 1 p.m. deadline. According to a Bay Area source, the sides were close on terms, believed to be a second-day pick, before the Raiders pulled the deal at the last minute.

please stop showing that disgusting horrible image of al davis. it literally makes me isck to look at the discolored skin on his face. I hate him. I want to start killAlDavis.com but i am lazy and if somebody does kill him (yeah!!!!) I dont want to catch an instigation charge or anything like that or be a suspect.....but it would be nice if somebody could "take care of a problem" for me.

Reminds me of the movie C.H.U.D.

Wouldn't matter either way. Until Davis is gone, the draft pick would have been wasted.

Once again Weird Al snatches defeat from the jaws of victory!

Thats because Al Davis woke up from his much needed 15 hour power nap.. And when the shrewest of traders realized he wasn't getting 2 or 3 first rounders for this bum he pulled the plug on the deal, put is IV back in and went back to gaga land....

Al Davis looks like Jerry Jones in 10 years.

Trading Bush for a fourth or fifth round pick would have been dumb; which is why I am surprised it did not happen.

Al Davis may be alive still, but his face appears to be in an advanced stage of decay. Put some duct-tape on that thing and it might hold together another 5-10 years!

October 15, 2008  07:08 PM ET

After the trade fell through Al Davis asked for Norv Turner's resignation.

I agree. Especially to a division rival. Even the fact they were considering it.... well, shouldn't be surprised. Alzheimer's is such a terrible disease.
