Nationally, White is ranked No. 24, Williams No. 38. No other Big Ten team has received commitments from players ranked as high as White and Williams.

I'm guessing you rate bass fishing over hockey and basketball. Do you have all of your teeth? Do you wear overalls to bed? Just asking.

Let'd worry about Basketball in February when it matters.

but he needs to loosen up his coaching style - you have to build and accentuate players talent, not have them play to your style - why do you think he didn't win a NC with Joe Crawford, Randolph Morris, and Rajon Rondo (throw in Derrick Jasper if you want to)??? He can recruit, he just doesn't do the right things when they get there. Solid coach, just not an elite one - build players natural talent and work with it, otherwise be happy with plain success, instead of exceptional results - good luck.

he did win a NC at kentucky granted not the players he recruited but a NC nevertheless. and the reason he didn't win one with those guys in my opinion is that you had a better than decent team in the same division and conference named the florida gators that only won back to back titles and had 3 first rounders. holford and crazy hair dude were dominating!! he's a solid coach, recruits well, and runs a program the way it should. he may not be elite but there are only a very few that can hold that label.

Minnesota leads Big Ten 2009 recruiting? Not even close.

Not sure what sources were used for the composite rankings, but Rivals doesn't even rank Minnesota in the Top 15 classes of 2009. That's because Rodney Williams is barely a Top 100 guy, definitely NOT #38.

I'll take IU's combo of Watford and Creek, or Illinois' Paul & Richardson.

I think Minnesota, and I admit my extreme bias, will be a top 25 team in 2011, maybe 2010. White and Williams are excellent recruits, and when paired with last years recruiting class of Colton Iverson, Ralph Sampson, Devoe Joseph etc, give the Gophs a good foundation. Williams is a top 100 recruit, and White is a unanimous top 5 SF in his class, that is the top 2009 class in the Big Ten class so far. However, there are is a lot of time to determine who will actually have the top class.
