Manny going to highest bidder
Manny Ramirez expressed appreciation for the Dodger Stadium fans in the left field stands who chanted, "Stay, Manny, stay," during Wednesday's ninth inning. But an hour later, after Philadelphia had eliminated Los Angeles in Game 5 of the NLCS to advance to its first World Series since 1993, Ramirez made it clear what his priority would be in free agency: maximizing his income. After all, he kidded, gas prices are at an all-time high. Ramirez expressed no burning desire to return to the Dodgers or to play anywhere else in particular. (Well, he did joke that Kansas City was out of the question.) His winter home is in Miami, and he indicated he has no geographical preference, since his children would be in school in the city where he relocates. Agent Scott Boras had $20 million options for 2009 and '10 dropped from Ramirez's deal when he was traded to the Dodgers, so clearly the goal is exceeding that average annual contract value over a longer period.

My comment on THIS article: well, duh! Tell us something we don't know about Manny's future in baseball. :-)

Manny is trouble. Boston should sue for failure to perform on his contract. He's terrible with the glove, terrible running the bases, and a cancer in the clubhouse as soon as the going gets rough. He's a great talent, but ultimately the team that gets him will regret the move for years.

Isn't there another article on here with almost 2000 comments that talks about the exact same thing? Ok, I guess about 1500 of those comments aren't actually about the topic at hand but you get what I mean.

More like 50... (relevant that is)
Yeah, I don't think anyone will be surprised at this. And I guess at this point in his career, why not. Its not like he has records to set or that he could actually compete for a title on the right team or anything.......

Manny will be in pinstripes, because the Yanks clutch hitting is horrible. They can afford to put up with his idiotic behaviour, because he will be plenty motivated to go back to Fenway and maul Sox pitching. He will hit 40-50 HRs in Yankee Stadium II.

Best of luck to ever lands him. Seriously. Give the guy more than one year and you will never know if he will show up or not. I am well aware that he will get the multi year contract, but I am just saying...

Manny needs to be smarter than this (Yes, I realize this is an oxymoron) but this is going to be his last contract. If he cares about winning another World Series, he'll sign with a contender even if it means a few less million. He should sign with the Dodgers who will probably give him about 15 million for 3 years. This makes a lot more sense than just signing with any team because they give him 17 million for 3 years.

Manny will ask for more then 15 mil. They gave Jones who doesnt play 18 mil for sitting around. So manny will def. ask for more.

Borass client only playing for the money? No way! Really? Expect a huge drop off in Manny's production once he signs the big contract.

the game the other night FOX kept showing scott Boras, and talking about how much he is drooling over the possiblities of Manny's next contract... but if he does to Manny what he did with AROD Boras might end up being the loser out of the deal...
There is NO way we ever see manny in pinstripes... we don't need another boras contract, just remember that Boras also has Tex as a client

everyone knows manny's bat will instantly make any lineup exponentially better but is he worth it? i wouldn't want any guy on my team that's gonna play only when he wants to or pushes old guys down because he couldn't get him tickets.
