Giants in market for Manny, Burrell, Young?

In a weak NL West, the Giants could make a move or two that gets them back in contention quickly. Would they be a dark horse candidate for Manny Ramirez, as a draw to replace Barry Bonds? All sorts of possibilities. Pat Burrell? If the Giants don't go there, they would prefer a hitter they can have under their control for a while. Delmon Young, who flamed out in Minnesota this season, has been talked about.

Like signing Barry Zito?

With only hitting 94 HR's this season (lowest in the MLB) I think the Giants need to bolster their lineup with more than just one guy. So maybe going for someone like delmon young, may allow them to also spend some salary cap on another postional player to bolster their lineup in more than one place, not something that Manny will likely allow you to do with the money he is after.

HAHAHAHAHA... Hmm, I'm so reminisent of Barry's 73 HR's.

Well Pat Burrell played with Aaron Rowand in Philly and has seen how well the Giants did, so I would be surprised to see him go for the money like Aaron and leave a team and town that has grown to love him. Only if the Phillies do not make him a fair offer will he leave, but methinks he'll opt to stay in Philly.

Either put the bong down or pass it my way, the Giants will still be the doormats of that oh so tough NL West.

Mornin' Becca, I always thought you look good covered in cheese! lol

Congrats to your team. I'm probably asking to lose but it seems only fair: same bet for the last game of your series? That way you can have me in a pink mini or whatever avatar you like for the Phils upcoming series in boston, 'cause I think you can put a fork in the Rays.
