Lloyd Carr has been seen on the Syracuse campus. But sources say he's a consultant for Greg Robinson's replacement and not a candidate himself.

We'll take him or Bowden, right about nowI'll take my sons peewee football coach.

Syracuse couldn't be that lucky.

October 20, 2008  08:23 AM ET

Whats the rush? When the season ends there will be big time coaches who are let go.

October 20, 2008  08:55 AM ET

Got no problem with Lloyd coaching again. Not sure why he would want Syracuse but Lloyd can coach them up.

October 20, 2008  08:57 AM ET

Hopefully he's finding R-Rod a job so that he can take UM over again...

Carr is a great coach, I'd like to see he on the sidelines again, Syracuse or Washington would be very tough places to take over. I would rather have to try & fix the Detroit Lions!!!

Dude, come on.

my god man, this is two week old information. If anything, he's only there to help guide them in finding a new coach. Carr has no interest ever coaching college ball again.

What gave it away??? How do you know what he is or isn't interested in???

October 20, 2008  10:27 AM ET

Carr just wants to play golf these days, a little consulting on the side never hurt anyone.

October 20, 2008  10:50 AM ET

Ah-ha!!!!!!!!! So all of you Michigan fans that said Carr "retired" were full of crap, just as I originally said. He was forced out by the UM alumni and Bill Martin. I hope he takes the job at Syarcuse. He couldn't do any worse than the current coach.

Because I have heard the man speak and read nuggets from people close to the program when he was there. The man was fed up with coaching but mostly with recruiting. The man enjoys teaching, there is not doubt about that but he had enough.

BTW, I believe the only reason why he's at Syracuse is because he is friendly with someone there who i think has/had U of M ties.

Carr would turn around Syracuse faster than Rodriguez could turn around Michigan (if he even can).

Keeping the HUGE learning curve you must have in consideration, lets clear something up polly. Bill Martin was of Carr's largest advocates. So your uninformed statement is the equivalent to an OSU degee.....BULLSHEEEEETTTTTTTTTTT

If he Carr isn't available I am sure John Cooper is.
