How did OU/OSU not get him?

AFAIK, he was frustrated/upset with OU for not recruiting him early. OU had Bryce Brown rated higher. OU really started talking to Oku after Brown (and his older brother) committed to Miami.

Plus, there are rumors that Oku didn't want to compete with the OU backfield, but as I said, those are rumors so who knows.

Hopefully he will be academically eligible come Aug of next year.

God knows Tennessee and Fulmer needs all the help they can get. ;)

Yep, TN running game is terrible............I think this kid will help, but we still need an o-line to make those holes and a coaching staff that can exercise its talent.

Tennessee has always been able to recruit in that area, and FARSCAPE, the Vols running game is not bad at all. They have two backs that could be starting for almost anyone. The problem(s) is the O-line is horrible(even though it was suppose to be a strong point), and we have no QB. So when a team can't pass the defense knows they can merely concentrate on the shutting the run down. I have been to 3 of the games this year and the linebackers and safeties are daring Tennessee to go long. Oh yeah, Tennessee has Fat Phil to top it all. Great coach, 5 years ago.

His choices weren't that great to begin with, but who knows, maybe he can help, he sure can't hurt them. He could have gone to mich. and been a starter, probably neb. too!

We have the best tailback in the nation. David Oku. We have the best safety in the nation. Eric Berry. Oh, and the best defense in the SEC. Give us a year or two, and it will be Tennessee dominating again. You can't stop the inevitable.

Hey osddad, there is no way this kid could go to Michigan and start ahead of Sam Mcguffy

We got the top 2 All Purpose Backs coming to Knoxville! Hopefully they don't in critical situations like Arian Foster. Things are hopefully on the way up for the Vols, since it can't get much worse.

This kid is a great tailback...but a brick may have a higher IQ....

Mark my words...he will not start a game in college...

I'm afraid I have to agree with Spaceman....there will be a new coach there two to three years.

yeah you're probably right. And from what I hear, he probably won't make it into big time football anyway, at least for a few years. Go the jr. college route and end up at Oregon St. or Okla. What's Mcguffy's totals this year? I haven't keep up on him although I did see a pretty good run early this year for a TD. On a non struggling team he could be a pretty good back, he is one, but a much better chance.

Good pickup, but calm down. He's not the #1 RB in the nation, he's the #1 APB. No, not all points bulletin, all-purpose back.
