Oregon State athletic director Bob De Carolis has emerged as the first candidate linked to the upcoming vacancy for the same job at Indiana University, according to a report in the Portland Oregonian. De Carolis, 55, has been the Oregon State AD since 2002. He spent 19 years in the Michigan athletic department.

Tom, with a smirk like that, how the hell will you convince anyone to work or play for you?

October 21, 2008  09:08 AM ET

First item on the agenda: expand the stadium so that its 10,000-20,000 seats bigger than needed, even when playing the #1 team in the country. And do so in a way that allows the stadium's structure to be made fun of AFTER its renovation.

It worked at Oregon State, so why not?

Who is making fun of the Beavers renevation? Do you know anything about Reser Stadium? Have you been there or you just have seen it from your black and white 19" tv back home watching highlights on the best local channel that can get picked up by your rabbit ears?

Now about the article... Isn't it odd that the Indianapolis Star would get information about Indiana University from a Portland newspaper 2200 miles away?

BroncoUp I've been to Vancouver, WA and there isn't anything there but good beer! So maybe you shoulod really think about that rabbit ears comment and stick something you know.. And that is is losing..

October 21, 2008  12:19 PM ET

Just give us someone who won't bring more sanctions.

October 21, 2008  02:35 PM ET

Miham.... dude looking at your profile you seem a bit confused. A favorite team doesn't mean a list of 5 from each sport. Pick one, or do you wait until 3/4 of the season is over and pick the one with the best record?!

As for the Reser stadium shot... hhmmm, maybe you are just bitter because the Beavers have handed it to your loser Ducks the last 2 years and will again this year. But you probably don't care because by the time they meet in the Civil War they won't be your "favorite" team anymore.

Loser!!

you crack me up. Just cause I live in Vancouver now don't mean Im from here. Moved here a year ago after getting married. Got a neice that lives with us so we have to live in the state of washington to keep custody. Your a Hoosier and you live in California...same thing right? just cause you live there dont mean your from there.

how about the losing... you must only be talking about basketball becuase you haven't done crap in football or baseball. In the past 15 years, you have only made it to 2 bowl games and you lost both. We have been to 7 winning 5. Baseball we went to 3 straight College World Series and we were back to back National Champions in 2006 & 2007.

Hoosiers has only won 2 national championships since 2000 and those were both in soccer. What...they have a championship for Soccer? Well, I guess that is equal to University of Portland Pilots who have won 2 girls soccer championship.

So who is accustomed to losing again? just refresh my memory please.

P.S. If Hoosier is not for Indiana and really intended to find out who your daddy is, I apologize.

This is kind of like a Detroit Lions fan and a St. Louis Rams fan going at it...

October 21, 2008  03:43 PM ET

what are you trying to say about the Rams? just kidding

October 21, 2008  06:03 PM ET

I love how you got away from the Basketball really quick b/c we both know you don't want to compare the W's from each school. For the baseball vs soccer I pretty much compare that as a wash b/c they are both for girls! For football YES we are on the lower end of the Big Ten and the only fame you have is beating USC (Granted I loved every minute). The only advantage you have is a college that is in the ghetto and pays for their players to go to school there. Out of the players from OSU how many have superbowl rings in the past 5 yrs?

October 21, 2008  06:10 PM ET

Sorry Just don't want another AD coming in from another college with the same losing record on football... Our Basketball team sales itself!!!

October 21, 2008  09:14 PM ET

^Oregon State is a respectable football program, they would most likely take Indiana to the wood shed.

October 21, 2008  09:21 PM ET

Losing record on football? OSU has the 3rd best record in the Pac10 this decade. Since 2002 (as far back as I found Indiana records) OSU is 51-32 while Indiana is 26-52.

October 21, 2008  10:28 PM ET

I'm really not trying to match Indiana's football program vs OSU football program b/c they both have on and off years.. I was telling BroncoUp before he starts talking crap on IU we don't need a AD that has a so so Football Program, and a NO NAME Basekball program to come over to IU..

October 22, 2008  08:48 AM ET

Hoosier Daddy..........I think Oregon St has an NCAA baseball championship on this guys watch. They also beat # in the country a couple times in football in the last 3 years and the have played 13 a number of times not just once. If he gets the job his first order of business should be to grab Bray Hoke from Ball State before Purdon't gets him.

October 22, 2008  12:23 PM ET

Our only fame this year is beating #1 USC. 2006 we beat then #3 USC, 2007 we beat then #2 Cal (who was going to be #1 becuase LSU lost) and we beat Cal on there home field. 2006 we beat Missouri who came out the next year and this year and is playing for a BCS bid. We have beaten ND twice in the past 7 years in Bowl games.

Your clame of fame is beating Western Kentucky (2-6) and throttling non-FBS Murray State (3-5).

And I wasn't trying to talk crap on IU. I was just trying to figure out why I should "stick to what I know and that is losing". I just didn't know where you were coming from becuase Indiana hasn't been doing much winning lately except in basketball.

Hey Devo,he has the number 3 ranked class coming in next year so I guess his smirk is working just fine.
