Oregon lands all-state forward
Even though he already had made up his mind, E.J. Singler took advantage of a recruiting trip to the University of Oregon on Saturday. A day after helping his South Medford football team win at South Eugene, Singler stayed in town to listen to Oregon coach Ernie Kent's elaborate presentation about his basketball program. As soon as it was over, Singler stood up in the Ducks' locker room before his parents and the UO coaching staff and made it official. The 6-foot-6 forward was a second-team Oregonian all-state selection last season after averaging 20.2 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.2 blocked shots for the Panthers, who placed sixth at the OSAA Class 6A championship tournament at McArthur Court. Singler's top three choices were Oregon, Stanford and Washington State. The Cougars made a late decision to offer their available scholarship to another player, and Singler said he didn't qualify academically into Stanford.

So Oregon did not land the player... The player landed at Oregon by not having a scholarship at WS and not qualifying for Standord

So chumps (I am sure he is nice and all, but I wouldn't sound like a true fan unless I seethed a bit) like this kid get press on SI, but the Orton commit to UK got no love. Horse S#%$. Who the heck cares about Oregon. All they have is Pinot Noir anyway. Go Cats.

Wow out of your mind. UK's basketball defecation has more tradition in the ol' roundball than The Little O will ever have. Ever.

i'm not questioning UK's place in basketball history, altho i will say "what have ya done lately?," but you start making cracks about oregon you better expect it to come right back at ya.
and speaking of tradition, who won the very first ncaa basketball title? that's right, the good ol' university of oregon. but you probably didn't know that, mr. basketball tradition expert.
you're the one who said "who the heck cares about oregon?" well, for starters, the people who live in this great state, the university alumni, the students, the fans. we've been to the elite 8 twice in the past 5-6 years, have a new arena under construction and are building for the future. what has kentucky done in that same time period?
