OK. Let's all chill about all this talk about a second team in Toronto. This is a city with a nothing hockey team which is getting way more coverage than it deserves. Call me when Balsilie buys one of the failing franchises. Between this, the Sundin rumours and the messiah stories about Bran Burke, Toronto is staying front and centre of the hockey news when it should be getting no coverage at all.

"Ve vill cross the border and seize zee city of Toronto and install our team, the Toronto Stormtroopers. The game of hockeys is ours. Resistance is futile."

So, Bettman doesn't, "believe everything he reads"? I guess we can put THAT rumour to rest, that he can in fact read. I guess we can also put it to rest that he is aware of a country north of the US border. Being the political junkie that I am, I am always suspicious of these things. Often times, we find out that the "anon" source is someone in the league office with the merry munchkin's okay.
One other rumour that we cannot put to rest is:

It's stupid to put another team between Toronto and Detroit. They need to put another team in Winnipeg.

With the rumors of how the governors are talking Gary better be careful or Balsillie will get his franchise and take Bettman down at the same time. I'm more and more convinced Stern sent bettman in to fo ok up the NHL.

Give Balsillie a team already and let him place it in the general vicinity of the center of the universe. Some place like Hamilton. If not, Quebec City will do.
