Knicks' Curry upset with D'Antoni
Look out, Jerome James. You may have some competition. The seldom-used big man may have to make room on the Knicks bench for fellow center Eddy Curry, who is in serious danger of not making Mike D'Antoni's regular-season rotation. Curry did not play in Tuesday night's loss to the Celtics and is not guaranteed to take the floor in the Knicks' preseason finale tonight against the Nets at the Garden. "I kinda got caught off guard by it. I went into last game the same I do for every game, with the same approach, preparing myself mentally and preparing to play a game, but I didn't have any kind of warning. No...nothing," Curry said yesterday. "He [D'Antoni] didn't talk to me [and] I didn't talk to him. He had plenty of opportunities to talk to me before. I'm here. I see him every day. If he wants to talk to me, I'm right here."

that attitude Curry has is the reason they sucked as a team the last few years. They don't want to try hard and just want a paycheck. If i was a Knicks fan I would demand the team refund tickets that were purchased the last few years on the grounds of false advertisement, since they were to watch NBA calibur ball not the D-League.

D'Antoni is having a rocky start in NY. D'Antoni is as much to blame now for all of these soap opera. His job was to make the team work together and provide some team chemistry. He can be tough at the same time but he needs to get his players to follow his system and make them believe. It looks like he is not doing his job. The team seems to be still in turmoil.

what the heck are you talking about guam?????
This is what EVERY knick fan wants......
we want these fat, lazy bast@rds to have some fear
that they will be riding pine if they don't TRY
I applaud D'A for having the b a lls to do this......
- you don't hear anyone that is TRYING complaining about D'A

Agree with jgb. I'm not a Knick fan but living here and knowing a lot of fans: this is exactly what they want. They want Curry and James on the pine instead of being on the court and clogging up the lane with their ineffective and lazy play.
Good move D'Antoni. Sit the ****.

That idea of instilling fear in them was used so many times. It was used by Isiah and Larry Brown and it didn't work. D'Antoni needs to talk to his players and try get them to buy into his system. D'Antoni does not need to bring this out to the press every single minute. He needs to keep it inhouse and try to make it work. For the team to work everybody has to be on the same page and that's his job to do that. He needs to encourage them and find a way to buy into his system.

In a 'normal' situation....I'd agree.......
But these are the KNICKS.
Curry, Marbury & the like WILL NOT CHANGE
There is no 'getting through' to them....they are RICH
and don't give a damn about the team or their careers
I personally would rather lose with guys that suck but TRY
than watch these lazy divas who could care less about the game

honestly... D'Antoni is doing something that no other coach for the knicks did... he's looking to the bench and see the talent he has for the system he got hired to implement. when shaq first went to Miami he was over weight... he said that Phil wanted him big to play post for the triangle blah blah blah... when he got to miami he dropped weight to play riley's system.
they don't get paid to play... they get played to WORK! its D'Antoni's job to talk to Curry, its for Curry to go to the Coach and ask what is needed of him. its simple... Curry loves his dounuts!
D'Antoni actually got Steph to put the team first and he finally said he doesn't mind coming off the bench in crawford plays better starting... steph even said, with D'antoni's system... everyone gets burn! that is if your FIT TO RUN and GUN! fat people are not allowed

Thats the problem. He wants you in the weight room maybe on a tread mill losing some of that blubber.

Guam, I usually agree with some of the comments you have but I dont agree with blaming D'A on this one. Some players on the Knicks feel like they should be handed their jobs and not have to play for them, which is just ridiculous. I'm pretty sure the players knew that coming into the season that they should be in the best shape of their lives if they wanted to play in the "7-seconds or less" system, and what did you have some of the so-called "superstars" coming into camp out of shape and over weight. Thats just pathetic.
Curry is nothing but a HUGE disappointment in the NBA. He does nothing well and doesnt even have an inside presence even thought he is 7'0 and 475 pounds. This guy has been given EVER opportunity over the last few years and he hasnt improved on one aspect of his game. I me honestly how can you be 7 foot and only average 5 rebounds a game for your career. So let him sit the bench with James for all I care. I dont want to see that fat tub of goo plodding up and down the floor slowing down ever game like he was Gheorghe Muresan.

Curry needs to get in shape.. i don't think he will benefit the Knicks or D'antoni's style of play if he doesn't.. i agree 100% with benching him til he does.. i go further and suspend him til' he does get in shape... atheletes need to know that there are consequences to there off season actions... he obviously was in worse shape then last season and there is no excuse for that.. D'Antoni is doing the right thing... this is his team and he should run it the way he wants to...

enough with the coddling. these guys need to tighten it up. if they aren't getting it they need to be benched. as far d'antoni not talking to him. what's wrong with curry intiating the talk as to why he's not playing he seems to be one with the problem with it; find out why your not playing and do you best to fix the problem. d'antoni seems content with his decision not to play curry for obvious reasons. was he suppose to ask him permission to bench him?? to me its not about instilling fear. you would hope that you are dealing with grown men here. 'oh but coach didn't talk to me' c'mon....that is ridiculous to me!! let's get on with it. the coach has the authority to put on the floor whomever he feels gives them the best chance to win.....period!!

It will be very interesting to see how D'Antoni adjusts when it is determined that his system WILL NOT WORK with the personnel he has. He will have to adjust. How he does it will determine the degree of failure for this team. Success is not an option. The question is, how bad will they suck?

I know this guy isn't the smartest, but don't you think even he can figure out that he's not playing because he is **** huge? What a horrible coaching job to have. Not that the Bulls position would be much better. Poor Mike.

I think the Bulls job would of been better suited for his style of play. young and athletic and not fat like Jerome James and Curry! lol
and the bulls got Derick Rose! he stil got a lot to prove but i am sure he would thrive in mike system
