Tar Heels QB expects to return
Sweaty on Thursday from a workout -- no boot, no cast, no limp -- North Carolina quarterback T.J. Yates looked ready and raring to return behind center. He said that's still his plan this season, although he's not sure exactly when. "I'm just waiting -- waiting for it to heal," said Yates, who will watch from the sidelines again Saturday at his team plays No. 23 Boston College. The weekend will mark five weeks since Yates, a sophomore who set the school record for single-season passing yards last year, fractured his left ankle while taking a sack against Virginia Tech. At the six-week mark -- NC's open date -- he'll undergo more tests to see if the bone has fully healed. If it has, he can likely return to practice, although neither he nor his coaches have pinpointed a game for his return.

Yates better not rush back and be ineffective. Sexton doesn't light other teams up with his game but he's managing well enough.
