Abdul Gaddy, a 6-foot-3 point senior guard from Tacoma (Wash.) Bellarmine Prep, said today that he is strongly considering both UCLA and Washington as his college basketball destination. Gaddy, who is rated as the No. 2 player at his position by Scout.com, had given a commitment to Arizona and was prepared to sign a national letter of intent next month until Lute Olson announced Thursday he was retiring as Wildcats coach.

Agreed. This article is insipid. Let me see if I get the gist of this: one of the best coaches anywhere leaves the Pac Ten and now lesser coaches at competing programs are benefitting? Really? Woulda thunk it!

(Chasin' leaves the room, the sarcasm levels are too high even for him)

I wouldn't necessarily call Howland "lesser"

Spam X2.................at the beat goes on for Arizona. Look no further than Indiana to see what happens when the coaching circus comes to town.

If the kid goes, he goes.

Waste of an article.

He should have quit a few years back. He wasn't into it anymore. He cheated his players by saying he was coming back and got a couple of guys to stay. Now they are upset. Who can blame them. If he has a medical condition, then just say it and retire. But the way he did this makes one wonder if he has it all together upstairs? Best of luck to him. Good fundamental coach. Didn't think he was a great game coach. Another person who gets screwed in this mess is Kevin O. Not the greatest coach, but he took over when those kids were down and out and they actually made the field of 64. They agreed, (UA, AD, Olson), that he was the coach of the future and would take over after Olson retired. Well, what happened?!! The AD should do the right thing and quit. He hasn't been worth much since he came on board!

Wallab! Whatzyatalkin' about? He is a Hall of Famer! Not a good game coach?? Gimmee a break..he's the winningest coach ever in the PAC 10!

UA will be back in a year or so. Things happen..they still have the longest consecutive NCAA tourney streak and might make it this year, ya never know, but they will be back. All the best to Coach O, one of the all time best.

Olson built a "program" in the desert. They still have Budinger, Hill and Wise which should get them in to the tourney (the Pac-10 isn't the strongest). I understand that these are kids and they are emotional, but playing for Arizona will do more for any NBA aspirations than sitting on the bench at UCLA.
