Hart doesn't regret Spartans shot

A year ago, Michigan tailback Mike Hart ignited the fuse on the Michigan-Michigan State rivalry by calling the Spartans U-M's "little brother." On Friday, Hart addressed the situation: "I definitely don't regret what I said," said Hart, now a running back for the Indianapolis Colts who will attend today's game in Ann Arbor. "It really just came from the fact that, during the week, coach (Lloyd) Carr would show us different clips of their interviews and different things that they said throughout the week. During that week, they said a lot of things like, 'Oh, Michigan is conceited, they think they're better than us, they think we're their little brother,' stuff like that. "Really, that's where it came from. It really was something they put in my head throughout the week until game time. When the game was over, it just came up in conversation." That conversation, of course, was a news conference with an army of reporters and cameras. Anyway ..."

Hart then fumbled the microphone after the interview...

AS Mike explains it, all he was doing was reiterating what Spartina had been saying. It was a harmless comment that has been blown up outta context. MSU should focus more on not choking like an actress in a snuff film than on what Mike Hart said. And MSU has to win this game today. UM is injured and near death and if MSU can't win today, MSU will be officially known as the MSU CHOKERS.

Look. Anyone who thinks that Michigan isn't the big brother in this rivalry is just idiotic. That's not conceit, it's rational honesty.

Ha ha, if you can name me a RB that carried the ball as much as him and only fumbled three times in his career (during the regular season, I know his last bowl game he coughed it up twice I believe) as Hart did I'll buy you your next set of spandex pants, okay Macho Man?

Funny but Hart fumbled 3 times in his whole career at Michigan.

Anyway, why should Hart regret his statement? It was a rather innocent comment made in a rivalry battle. Lord knows player have said much worse about their rival.

My definition of conceit would be that Michigan owns them in the win count over the history of their rivalry.

It's not even close. Michigan State may win today but at the end of the day Michigan still has the most W's in this rivalry.

True that, in addition where did you get "bigoted" from, huh setyourselfup? Looks like your handle speaks volumes..............

True. That guy needed to get the facts before he spoke on a Michigan fan. Unfortunately he sethimselfup for a smacking.

I was always told that "it's better to be thought a fool and remain silent than to speak and remove all doubt", hopefully setyourselfup will heed that sage advice.

What has been lost in all the Mike Hart junk is that Michigan State's head coach actually started all the talk the first week of last season when Michigan lost to Applachian State. Coach D when asked what he thought about the lost asked smuggly if they "should take a moment of silence" for Michigan. So, when Michigan beat Sparty last year Blue did take a moment of silence at midfield...that is where a lot of this stems from.

Way to go out on a limb and make a bold statement after the game 1st & Goal. Care to predict the outcome of last nights Penn St and Ohio State game as well...any pithy comments on Joe Pa's boys?

Classless 1st and Goal. Classless, indeed.

It's one game dude. Next year is a different story.
