Dolphin Stadium informed Miami that it must reschedule next season's Sept. 12 game against Oklahoma because the Marlins are booked for a home series that weekend. Athletic director Kirby Hocutt expects to find another '09 date for the Sooners but said UM might have to move its Oct. 3 game at UCF.

Reschedule the game. That should be a big one in Miami. Might need to get tix for that.

Maybe the marlins and canes should just play on the same field at the same time. That'll bring about 4,000 people into the stadium.

Guess the Canes are about to find out whae it's like to be the #3 tennant in the building.

#5, you're exactly right.

Bad luck for the Canes. They seriously need their own stadium. Three teams in one place is too much.

October 26, 2008  05:32 PM ET

will someone buy the marlins please? and move them far, far away..

i hate when we have to play on the dirt anyway

Is this really news? Miami fans are the most pathetic in college football. Move the game to Oklahoma and you would see just as many, if not more Miami fans they you would if the game was smack in the middle of that campus. I know, I know...there is just so much to do in Miami unlike other schools around the country and this is your excuse....glad I don't live in Miami.

cant argue with that, its pretty bad when im sitting in DS and alls i see is empty seats around me.. this goes for every single sport down here though unless of course one of the teams makes a playoff run

Don't know if its just an excuse, but people I know when went to UM say the distance to go to games has always made it a pain. Now its true in a place like Norman the students would drive 45+ minutes to go to a gain, I don't see that happening in Miami. I don't know if it would happen week in and out at any school in Florida honestly.

I see those 40K Okies traveling 300 miles to play Texas, what do the Miami fans have to complain about?

thedeacon, thats great, but thats 1 game.. not all 6 home games

it used to take me an hour+ to get to the orange bowl and park in juan or joses front yard, but dolphin stadium is about 25 mins away.. i was expecting a lot more fans to go to games, maybe when we rise back to dominance (real soon) it will be full

it will be fun to put the smack down on the second best team with the hurricane nickname

October 27, 2008  03:34 AM ET

You know there are no excuses that will explain the complete lack of attendance. If you know anything about college football, students only comprise about 20% of those in the stands- the rest are alum and random fans. So don't give me it's so hard to get to the stadium for a game. Or those are just fans coming for 1 game (ie, UTex vs OU; UF vs UGA; etc etc). Get REAL fans who stick with your team no matter how good or how bad!

October 27, 2008  04:55 AM ET

They just now noticed that...hmm...someone needs a clue.

Hah hah, yeah, Tulsa is pretty salty this year.

As many of you have commented, the home-attendance for Miami is utterly despressing. I can't believe Oklahoma actually agreed to putting the Hurricane on their OOC schedule again knowing how small the gate-revenue will be. I guess both schools are having difficulty finding any big name out-of-conference teams to play them.
