Penn State celebration turns destructive
The Centre Daily Times reported last night the celebration of Penn State's win over Ohio State turned destructive as people pulled down light poles and street signs, climbed atop cars and tossed objects off balconies in downtown State College. To clear the street, State College police, joined by police from neighboring townships, stood shoulder to shoulder across Beaver Avenue and walked into the crowd to disperse them holding pepper spray and night sticks.

Wonder how the boosters feel about JoePa now.

What a great way to bring Pride and Honor to your school, after winning in the shoe for the first time since 1978. I know thats how I celebrate. After the birth of each of my children, I ran into the streets and set things on fire, and turned over cop cars. Doesnt everybody party this way? What a bunch of DUMB@#$%@!!!

That's insipid, no need to refute your comment. As if JoePa said to the student body, hey everybody act like you're from Detriot! I don't see that happening. You want to see shadiness look at the SEC my frined.

I'm thinking that the boosters, as well as the rest of the PSU faithful, are LOVING JoePa and his boys for sticking it to OSU. The "excessive celebration" just proves that drunken crowds in State College, Pa are just as dumb as drunken crowds anywhere else.
This isn't a knock on OSU, but would this type of post-game idiocy even be news in Columbus?

It's a shame the actions of a few idiots can tarnish our Penn State victory last night.
Grow up & show some class! Students that act like this don't belong at Penn State or any other reputable university. When I was a student at PSU I never remember destruction in our celebrations.

I would think the boosters are loving Joe Pa right now. I only wonder if Daryl Clark loves Joe Pa right not because that man looked pretty ticked off on the sidelines when Devlin was in there.

Ooooooh yeah he did. I watched the replay of the "hit" that knocked him out of the game, and I certainly didn't see anything significant. Gotta admit, that one had me scrtching my head, but... that's why he's JoePa and I'm just sitting here typing about him.

Like this has NEVER happen before at any other school in history after a big win against a big rival?!?! Give me a break. I don't agree with the damage caused but it's going to happen at ANY school after beating a hated rival for the first time in years on an opposing teams home field.
Regarding Daryl Clark. He's fine. He got his bell rung and they kept him out because they need his leadership for the rest of the way and didn't want to risk him to more damage. He's a gamer, he has a high competitive spirit. If you saw him on PSU's TD drive and the last few minutes of the game, he was in there cheering and encouraging.

Other than some cities doing this kind of stuff after a Super Bowl, World Series, or NBA Championship. The only place I've heard of doing this kind of thing is UM(Florida). When this kind of stuff happens after a pro victory its the uneducated masses, your college educated people don't normally act in this manner. I understand they are college kids, and I'm sure alcohol was involved but they still should know better.

Absolutely, we'd hear how we're the worst fans in the country. This just proves excessive celebration happens everywhere. But the PSU fans in Columbus were great. Good game, you guys played tough. Now if you go and lose to Iowa next week, we'll have some problems.

That statement about DETROIT only would have come from the trash out of chicago. What other city does the fans come out of the stands and attack a base coach in their drunken stupor, but drunken stupors are common place in chicago.

Do not bash on Penn State Students because of their acts of rioting. Penn State students are some of the best in the nation; at least the most well rounded. We are one of the top academic schools in the nation and also the top 3 party school in the nation. The week is calm up here but on weekends we know how to support our undefeated football team. When your school beats a rival and pretty much clinches an undefeated season then we'll talk. WE ARE..... PENN STATE!

I'm not bashing Penn State, or its academics. But, the few knuckle heads that did this have made the entire school look bad. If you actually read my statements you can see that I am embarrassed for the institution that this happened. The school should not have to suffer because of a few morons. Oh, and for the record we did just beat a rival and you didn't read about Bama students ripping down light polls.
