QB controversy at UCLA?

Chris Forcier logged five minutes at quarterback at the end of Saturday's 41-20 loss to California. Forcier threw a nine-yard touchdown pass to Dominique Johnson in the final two minutes, which may fuel a Bruins quarterback controversy. Coach Rick Neuheisel said the coaching staff would "go back and address the things that are keeping us from being a more consistent football team." That would include play from the quarterback spot. "Kevin [Craft]is a guy who has played well," Neuheisel said. "The idea is to evaluate everybody. Kevin will be under evaluation and we'll decide who gives us the best chance to win." Craft had four passes intercepted Saturday. He came into the game ranked ninth in passing efficiency among Pacific 10 Conference quarterbacks and completed 17 of 35 passes for 206 yards against the Bears. Still, it might be too soon to write off Craft.

No controversy, they have no quarterback.

Craft played reasonably well. He was pressured all day. Several of those interceptions were tipped at the line. He is servicable qb, but not great. Most of UCLA's faults lies elsewhere.

would be interesting to see Forcier get the starting job next year. That could set up a meeting with his brother Tate who is believed to be in position to take over the starting job at Michigan next year if all goes according to plan. Threet will really need to step up his game and improve if he plans on starting.

Could see a Forcier vs Forcier Rose Bowl. How cool would that be?

That's exactly what I was thinking.

I don't know. Craft looks lost at times. Make that a lot of times. What's the worst that could happen if he's benched? Another guy comes in and stinks up the place?

If you remember the mid-90's, we had a hyped supposedly great QB. After he got benched, Cad McNown nearly got us into the title game with no defense whatsoever. So why not let somebody else have a turn?

p.s: Who knew Dorrell left the cupboard so bare? I mean Chow and Walker are GREAT coordinators and Neuheisel has a track record of success (and scandal).

what happened to the freshman from Surfside?? ND started a true freshman last year and this year he looks pretty good.

There may be a QB controversy at UCLA but there's no more RB controversy at USC. The proof is in the pudding. Everyone knows who "THE MAN" is.

It was Ryan Fien. And though they had another Freshman on the bench, McNown won out. Though that year they went 7-5 and the Aloha Bowl, no title that year.
