Cowboys may bench Johnson for Bollinger

Despite leading the Cowboys to a victory against Tampa Bay on Sunday, Johnson's status as the quarterback is as shaky as the offense under his direction. Even though he is expected to start against the Giants in New Jersey, Johnson appears to be guaranteed not much of anything beyond the Cowboys' first offensive series against the top-ranked defense in the NFC. Third-string quarterback Brooks Bollinger, who was signed by the Cowboys on Sept. 8, is on notice. Should the Cowboys struggle Sunday and show a penchant for three-and-outs and punting, expect Bollinger to play. Just don't expect any miracles. And don't expect anyone else, either. Sources said after the Cowboys' 20-point loss against the St. Louis Rams on Oct. 19, which featured Johnson's debut as the starter, there was not enough time for another veteran passer to come in and prepare himself adequately for anything other than the game against Washington on Nov 16. By then, Tony Romo is expected to be back.

Whoever is under center for the Cowboys, they're going to have to rely on their running game and their defense if they want to beat the Giants. I know the Cowboys are saying Brad Johnson hasn't shown good arm strength, but Brooks Bollinger doesn't exactly have a cannon. This game should be pretty interesting, Dallas looked pretty good against Tampa Bay.

This version of the Cowboys has been ALL TALK.....NO ACTION.....they need to do something, shut TO up simply because it would be nice. Underachievers....do not blame that blonde dumbnutz celebrity bimbo either. She has no talent.....just another piece of hott booootay. They should have brought in PacMan....what a lost soul. Mental illness aura. Why not let this Brooks dude play QB old Johnson is being a backseat driver anyway. Just too much celebrity BS hangs around these - boys. And for what reason???

I say start Johnson. And if he's getting smacked around, then bring in Bollinger.

Thank the LORD they are thinking along these lines. There is no freaking way whatsoever anyplace on GOD's green earth that Brad Johnson can show up and play the way he was last weekend...Forget winning if that's the case, just hope we aren't blown to high heck and back again.

I keep sitting here thinking to myself, there is no way Garrett thinks he even has a chance this week with BJ? Really, there can't be any way he even considers that....right?...Man, they must be really scrambling over there at the Ranch this week. Maybe I'll drive over there today and check out afternoon practice to see who's in

It's only one game left hopefully. If Johnson can go out there and not turn the ball over, I will be happy. Will the Cowboys win that way? Probably not. But I don't expect too much from him.

The only person who MIGHT be able to run the wildcat for the Cowboys, would be Isiah Stanback or Felix Jones IMO. But I doubt Wade would break it out against the Giants. Could work some on it during the bye week though if Felix Jones comes back healthy.

what happened to Casper?

Running game? in Dallas? with who? Barber is averaging 76 yds/game, 4 yds/carry, has 5 TDs and 2 fumbles....not exactly a fearsome rush attack.

It doesn't have to be a "fearsome rush attack", you just have to respect it some. And I'm sure defenses still respect Marion Barber.
