Potential White Sox-Angels trade

A natural fit for the White Sox would be the Angels' Chone Figgins, who could bat leadoff and play third. But the Angels will need a first baseman if they can't re-sign free agent Mark Teixeira. Paul Konerko came close to signing with the Angels after the 2005 season and is friendly with Angels manager Mike Scioscia dating to their days in the Dodgers organization. But Konerko has two years left on his contract and full no-trade rights. He also hit nine home runs in September and two in the American League Division Series after coping with slumps and injuries. The Angels have plenty of youth in their infield but could use some fresh legs in the outfield. It's a safe bet that any deal with the Angels would involve multiple players. Colorado, with speedy but injury-prone center fielder Willy Taveras and third baseman Garrett Atkins, presents another potential match.

Figgins is the catalyst for our offense... I like Konerko... But if we are trading Figgins... We need more in return... If we lose Tex... We have people who can do an adequate job at first.. Without the cost... To make a run at other people we need

I would hate to see Konerko go, but improving the team would be nice.

ChiSoxfan what up? Look my fiancee absolutely adores Pauly Walnuts and he's a class act. Unfortunately that class act is also unquestionably the SLOWEST man in baseball and now he seems to be in decline in terms of the stats he's puttin' up. You guys need speed the way the Cubs need a World Series victory! Williams needs to retool this team, they showed this year that they're not that far from being a legitimate contender.

true, very true, but it wasn't me. It was my new Zips!!!

I'd put the Yanks trio of Jorge, Matsui and Molina up against any team, any day. These guys run slower than old people screw.

If that were true it would mean that old people are somehow useful to society, which they're not. We need to round up everyone over 70, throw them in a pit, douse 'em with kerosene and torch the whole wrinkled lot of them.

Them damn vikings had the right idea. Find the nearest skiff, load it up with said geriatic and some kindling, set ablaze, and SET SAIL!
