A NASCAR spokesman says sanctioning body officials have found that the rear housing taken from the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota driven by Kyle Busch following the Sprint Cup Series race Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway was within the rules. NASCAR took the rear housing to its research and development center in Concord, N.C., to be measured electronically and found it to be in compliance with the rules, according to the spokesman, so the team will not face any penalties.

I'm so glad that Kyle's rear end passed inspection.

October 30, 2008  09:11 AM ET

Dang it, LOL, I wanted more bad things to pile up against PeeWee so maybe he will become a man next year instead of like a spoiled 16 year old (how he acted this year).LOL

October 30, 2008  09:11 AM ET

Shave the Busch---Do you think this avater is Kyle's rear end!!! LOL

October 30, 2008  09:13 AM ET

Me again--They NEED to chnage PeeWee's picture--this one is so out dated. I thought since we talked about it earlier in the week that fannation would have come up with an up-to-date one!!!

October 30, 2008  09:40 AM ET

No biggie, I am sure it is a good rear-end and within the rules. I am sure they are on to something there at JGR

October 30, 2008  09:43 AM ET

I think probably all the good teams are "on to something" that makes something better than the other teams in one department or other!! That is what makes racing-racing. I liked it better when we didn't have the COT and with all their new rules about not being able to change anything on the car!!!

October 30, 2008  09:45 AM ET

Gauranteed, this will be a Busch Bash within the hour. Even if he's right he's wrong. What drives the bashing of Kyle and Jr. on here. It usually is not commenting or anything constructive, but plain old bashing. Oh, I forgot Theresa, she usually gets a fair share of bashing and vitriol if her name is mentioned. ( LOL I think )

October 30, 2008  10:13 AM ET

JK I agree with the bashing It always happens and mostly it is fun..LOL Now about Teresa I will get in any of that bashing that goes on!! LOL

This avatar is making me sick to my stomach...please

October 30, 2008  01:37 PM ET

Other than making it lighter, not sure what they can actually do with the 3rd member....so it's not too surprising it was within spec. They only stated it was measured electronically..they don't mention 'weight'..so I'm guessing it was lighter material used (unobtanium, perhaps?)

yeah the picture is bad, I guess they had to many victory lane photos to choose from to come up with a final decision.
