OSU without coach if Obama wins
He hasn't been asked to host Saturday Night Live yet, or be a presenter at the ESPYs, but new Oregon State coach Craig Robinson is considered a big 'get' for TV and radio types. And after he's done answering the obligatory questions about you-know-who, Robinson jumps at the chance to talk about Beavers' basketball and the job he has bringing it back to respectability. Inauguration Day is Jan. 20 in Washington, D.C. ... normally, Robinson would be in Corvallis, helping OSU prepare for a Pac-10 roadie Jan. 22 at Cal. ... and the Fox guys asked if Robinson would instead be in D.C. for the ceremony. "Well, if if works out on Tuesday, there is a very good chance that on the 20th, the team will be practicing without me there,'' said Robinson. "But we will still be preparing for Cal.''

What kind of crap article is this? Who is he? Is he related to someone? Why will he be going to the inauguration? This writer needs to take a new job.

I know several people who were not related to President Bush who received and attended his inauguration; as a point of history, my father was invited to the inauguration of President John F Kennedy, which was unique for a blue collar worker of African American desecent in the 1960's. I guess I should call him Dad the Machinist (LOL). If McCain wins, Joe the Plumber wil probably be invited.
But, I do agree this is really an article that could have been left undone.

He is Obama's brother in law.
Anyway, as much as he would like to be Barack's side on Inauguration Day, I would believe that he knows his priority is to be with his team.
He seems like a stand up man, from what I have read about him, so I would doubt that there is any conflict here.

Usually I think a lot of the comments unfairly attack the writer, but come on. This is a horrid article that assumes everybody knows who this guy is. How about a little reporting?

Diggler's comments are right on. Too often writers (especially sports writers) assume that everyone knows all of the ins and outs of every sport. Some of us have lives. The writer should have made mention that Robinson is Barack Obama's brother-in-law.
For those hoping that he would not have to make the decision....tooooo baaaaddd!!!!

For the record. This is an Oregonian article. 99% of people who read this article in Oregon/Washington know who this guy is. Yes, it should have been made a little more clear that CR is the brother of Michelle Obama, but the person who wrote this article wasn't writing it for T&R, people in NY, GA or WI.

I did NOT vote for Obama. I hate the fact that he won, but this man has made history, he is our President and I am going to support him because he is representing me and all of America. This is Obama's Brother in Law. This is a once in a ligetime opportunity to go and be part, not just watch, but be a part of the inauguration of the President of the United States of America and what a honor to be invited and I hope this man goes and can come back and tell a great story. I know if I got invited I would go. Come on. I am not talking history because the man is balck, the history that this happens when we elect a new President and there have only been 43 of them. This is a huge moment and it should be a great thing to see.
