Chiefs' new QB of future is...

The thought of getting a well-quarterbacked game like the one provided last week by Tyler Thigpen helped sustain the Chiefs through a long, tumultuous offseason. They of course believed such a game would be delivered instead by Brodie Croyle and not Thigpen, who made his second career start last week against the Jets in New York. But in a season already full of unexpected turns, Thigpen is suddenly a little more than the Chiefs' quarterback of the moment. He, and no longer Croyle, is also their hope for the future.

Dear Jebus

Again, I know your a busy man. But if my local CBS affiliate broadcasts the week 17 match up between the Chiefs and Bengals into my home, would you pleeeezzzz smite those responsible with a little old school old testament retribution? Leprosy or a pox upon their house would do nicely.

Thank You

Praise Jebus

One good game against a bad Jets D is not anything to pin your hopes on.

November 1, 2008  11:00 AM ET

real question: who's the chiefs coach of the future.

November 1, 2008  11:10 AM ET

why don't they try pulling someone out of the stands, couldn't hurt.

Thigpen is a bad last name for a QB in the NFL, just as Romo is. Makes it too easy for the immature crowd.

I still remember Pittsburgh Steeler WR Yancy Thigpen. Yes "Yancy", and you thought Thigpen couldn't get any worse.

Last week, Tyler Thigpen went into NY with an NFL-low 44.3 passer rating. He lit up the Jets and improved his rating to 63.3

It's amazing what they'll consider "hope for the future" when you're a 1-6 team.

And .... this is ..... what? Their thirteenth QB for the future now?

November 1, 2008  01:18 PM ET

Chiefs quarterback of the future is Sam Bradford or Matthew Stafford.

November 1, 2008  01:29 PM ET

Would the media please stop taunting Chiefs fans? Have these people not been disappointed enough over the last 40 years? They might just seem to be screennames, but they are attached to real people. People who cry, sweat, bleed, masturbate, and day-dream about being spaceship captains like the rest of us. They already know that the best they can hope for is mediocrity!!! They don't need your help!!!!

They shoulda dialed 1-800-Qtrback. They have tons of franchise QB's of the future in stock. Just ask Parcells.

November 1, 2008  01:58 PM ET

I thik right now they'd be better off putting a WR back there and running the wildcat 100% of the time..

no.....but as a Jets fan watching.....
he actually had good accuracy and pretty nice zip on the ball.

Certainly better than croyle- who lets be serious...not so good

Just bring back Marty.

Honk if you are sick of the idea of McCain and Obama coming onto MNF and having Tony Corn-Holeeeio fawn over them both as they tell us how great the Redskins are (no offense to Skins fans as the Skins are playing well) while they should be rooting for the Cards or Bears respectively.......

Dollars to doughnuts these two pickle-schmoozlers totally flip to the DC team as if that were to gain them some votes. As usual waffling and no integrity from our "elected officials"

I will be muting the volume for sure!!!!!

pfffffffhhhhhhh

The Jets are no a bad D, they have a top 4 run defense, and Kerry Rhodes and Darrelle Revis are excllent DBs and Calvin Pace provides excellent pass rush

ESPN has ruined Monday Night Football. I refuse to watch it unless the Eagles are on. Even then I dread listening to Kornheiser.

I still remember Jaworski and Tirico trying to announce the Cowboys-Eagles game. Kornheiser kept interrupting them so he could drag up scum topics. He felt the need to bring up the Jessica Simpson-Tony Romo relationship, the Terrell Owens-Donovan McNabb saga, Andy Reid's sons and I can't remember what else.
