Karl thinks Kleiza will return
A day after the Nuggets and Linas Kleiza couldn't come to an agreement on a contract extension, coach George Karl remained optimistic Kleiza could return to the team next summer, signing as a restricted free agent. Still, there was disappointment from Kleiza, who thought a deal would be done, and now there's also the possibility that the Lithuanian could play overseas, as suggested by his agent, Bill Duffy. "The Nuggets gave us every indication that it was going to work, and at the last minute, it changed," said Kleiza, who struggled in Denver's first two games of the season.

Another disgruntled player. Denver should have worked it out. For the team to change their mind last minute is crazy. Kleiza has the right to gripe on this one.

certainly worth signing to a reasonable deal

Another casualty of the fire sale. Denver is trying to run this team on the cheap. Maybe next summer after not making the playoffs, their thinking may be different. Kleiza is better off going somewhere he's appreciated.

He is a role player but he is a good one. Sign him to a decent deal and move on.

It's strange how the entire mind-set of the NBA has
been to dump, dump, dump and try to land one of the
big free agents in 2 years...........

OK so I thought the whole idea of the Nuggets letting go of the only player they had that plays D was to give bigger roles to guys like Nene and Kleiza more playing time and a bigger role in this outfit.
Is it just me or are Denver becoming the Knicks of the West?
Sincere apologies JGB.

Someone will hire here. Denver Messed up not wanting to sign players for money any more. Sorry but Kleza doesnt like Big Macs as much as Americans.

Iverson just got traded for Billups. This should make the Nuggets better.

Yeah, but McDyess is back, too. Just what the no-guts need... the return of a player who couldn't stay healthy when he was here the first time. Billups? Yeah, his level of play will stay high now that's been sent to NBA limbo.

I agree that the Pistons win here. They get a go to scorer, and if by any chance it doesn't work out they clear his salary off of the books after this season and gain some financial flexability.
It's a win-win for them.
