What will keep Maclin at Mizzou?

Missouri All-American Jeremy Maclin will return for his junior season in 2009 unless he is assured of being a first-round pick in the NFL draft next summer. "Any sophomore or junior who leaves early and doesn't go in the first round, that's not a very smart decision," Maclin said Monday. "If you can't refine your game this last year or two years to get to that point, I don't understand what the point is." Perhaps MU fans should not take too much solace just now. Maclin is currently ranked No. 7 overall by Scouts Inc.'s Top 32 list on ESPN.com. NFLdraftdog.com projects Maclin as the 27th pick of the first round.

Hmmm... A big check with lot's of ZERO's on it or another year at college where you can blow an ACL?

get while the getting is good. next year the tigers will suck!

Agree with both of you gentlemen....why not get PAID!!!

Maclin should probably stay to refine his skills just a little bit more....however w/Chase Daniel gone and now possibly Gary Pinkel. Next year will be more difficult. May be time to cash a check.

see ya...gotta go...by....

I bet the lions will draft him

Mizzou will be no good next year without Daniel... he needs to take the $$$ while he still can... like was previously said...don't rick an injury unless you're out of the first round

This sent me into hysterics - partially because there is a chance it will happen.

I dont think Detroit will take him. For one Matt Millen is no longer there to make that stupid call and secondly Detroit will be waaayyy to high in the draft to take Maclin

RockChalk,
The Lions will take him no. 1 overall...The Fords still own the team

Jeremy, I am no Pro Football fan in the slightest, as I consider the game at that level to be DULL, DULL, and even more DULL! But do the right thing for yourself and your family. If you are projected to go late in the first round, take it now before this economy completely implodes. Without Chase Daniel as QB next season, Missouri will more than likely slightly fall, and I just don't see how another year is going to boost your NFL draft status (if it would, it won't be by very much!). Go with the opportunity now, even though we will sure miss seeing your exciting and incredible athletic feats in the Division I NCAA ranks. Best of luck to you; I urge that you make the right choice.

I would hate to see you go, but another consideration in a possible Tiger fall in 2009 is another bad defensive secondary. Not you fault obviously, but it may go a long way in reducing the Tiger's ranking and your potential value. Good luck what ever you decide.
