Rift in Knicks' front office?

The never-ending Stephon Marbury saga may be starting to cause tension within the Knicks' new regime. And the season is only three games old. Knicks president Donnie Walsh hinted Monday that he doesn't completely agree with coach Mike D'Antoni's controversial decision to bench Marbury, who has yet to play this season. Walsh met with D'Antoni and Marbury before and after Monday's practice in Greenburgh regarding the veteran point guard's status and future. Walsh says he wants to resolve the matter but also admitted, "I don't even know if there are issues."

You're a racist idiot! Nobody even mentioned anything remotely regarding race, but you have to make it about that because he's black... Get a life loser! You say some of the dumbest ish. Go read a book.

All Marbury is looking for is a stage to audition himself for another team so he can dupe some GM for his mid level exception next year. But the Knicks are playing smart this time around.

They need to banish him from the garden till the end of the season or when some GM catches a Memphis moment and trades for him.

November 4, 2008  08:25 AM ET

This Knicks story is getting redundant. This is just a wasted space and time now.

November 4, 2008  08:45 AM ET

**** **** **** - this Knicks freakazoid just cant believe. For five years, you think you hit bottom, then another way to dig deeper arises. these two (GM, coach) self destructing after three games?

November 4, 2008  08:48 AM ET

I don't really know what hasn't been said that hasnt' already
been re-hashed 57 times over the last 2 weeks...........

Yeah dude, you'll see a trend with everything Bond writes - he only comments on stories about troubled Black athletes, he calls them all "boy" and, well, he's a racist.

D'Antoni just walked into the worst franchise in sports right now outside of Oakland or Detroit. Good luck, Mike.

November 4, 2008  09:12 AM ET

Sure he's a headcase at times (so is Kobe) but he is still one of the knicks best players. If there is no trade in the works, put him on the court D-Antoni. I bet he'd see the situation differently if he were signing Marbury's checks. You don't bench $20 million because of your ego.

You make the dumbest @-$-$ remarks . . . .nowhere does it mention race, adn they have an entire team of black guys (except 2?) so why would a race card be played? Your are as dumb as that lame @-$-$ new Bond film . . . . .

November 4, 2008  09:23 AM ET

Again is does anyone feel confident that this franchise is going in the right direction with Walsh at the helm anymore than Thomas? I realize its going to take time and I'm not saying he isn't going to do the job but when you read stuff like this do you feel hopeful?

Hey maybe Barrack Obama should run the Knicks for some hope and change.

November 4, 2008  09:30 AM ET

Dissension on the Knicks?? Say it isn't so.....

November 4, 2008  09:43 AM ET

Another Knick story on FanNation? Must be a day that ends in "Y"?

Anyway, I can't even comment on this. Laughing too hard.

that's not true....
if he came last year- TOTALLY agree-
but like him or not- Walsh has been a STABLE GM
and the knicks are in better shape than a year ago.

Also for all the BASHING Dolan takes-
he is a GOOD owner. He's just made BAD hires
- he SPENDS $$$ & stays OUT OF THE WAY
his biggest problem is his loyalty to guys he Hires

November 4, 2008  09:56 AM ET

he came into camp in the best shape of his life, willing to turn his image around and D'antoni puts him on the inactive list.. he was not a great player last year.. people aren't gonna want to trade for him by memories of last year.. let him play and push him hard at the trade dealine..

November 4, 2008  10:03 AM ET

just trade him to the wizard right

November 4, 2008  10:32 AM ET

If this is any indication of what we have to look forward to this year then we, the fans, are in big trouble.

All I want to hear about the Knicks is their win/loss record. Everything elese is wasted space.

How is this racist? Jason Williams was ripped yearly because of his attitude and he was white so how you come away with those comments as racist is mindboggling. You wanting everyone to sugarcoat any negative comments about black players now or what?

November 4, 2008  11:13 AM ET

The Knicks front office is the biggest joke in the NBA. Apparently it doesn't matter who is on staff whether it is Thomas, Brown, Walsh, D'Antoni because that place is a circus. Real shame that the Knicks were once a legit playoff threat every year in the 90's and are now the joke of the league.

but do you really think we have any shot to even MAKE the playoffs this year?? No way
So wins & losses are really meaningless...
its PROGRESS and DEVELOPMENT that is important as a knick fan
