Penn State's Clark cleared to start

Penn State quarterback Daryll Clark has been given the green light to start Saturday against Iowa. But Clark is wearing a green jersey with a cross on it in practice this week while recovering from a mild concussion suffered in the Nittany Lions' last game, a 13-6 victory against Ohio State. The green jersey means hands off for all defenders. No one is allowed anywhere near Clark. Clark, meeting with reporters for the first time since being injured and knocked out of the game against the Buckeyes 12 days ago, said there was a span in the fourth quarter where he blacked out and doesn't remember anything. "I remember getting hit and I played, I think, maybe six or seven plays after that, and I blacked out," he said. "I don't remember anything that happened until I came to, and we were up, and I was on the sideline. "There was a big gap. I looked up at the clock and it was 13 [minutes], and the next time I looked up it was 6 minutes -- in a matter of seconds."

This is a good thing. The best thing for the big ten is a highly anticipated game at the end of the year for conference championship, which looks like it could happen between PSU and MSU. PSU better hope that game gets a bit of hype, it's their best chance of making it into the Title game without BCS grumblings.

Clark will have a short rope the last three games. Not performance-wise, but time-wise. Any kind of double digit lead and he's coming out, even if for a series or two. His backup, Pat Devlin is more than a capable fill in. He's even more of a passing threat than Clark.

For once, the annual PSU vs. Mich St. game will be extremely important

Great news for everyone. Clark is a beast of a QB.

I'm nervous that Purdue could knock off Michigan State, hopefully not.

^well...not great news for Iowa.

Devlin getting time in the OSU was huge for him. Clark was off all night long[OSU] before he had the concussion. I'm not sure how the game would have turned out if Clark didn't get hurt and played the entire game. Devlin going in on a moment's notice was the best way to enter the game on a huge stage. Clark seems to have a glass jaw and you can bet Devlin's getting rep's this week.So if Clark goes down again I think Devlin will up for the task.

Would like to see JoPa win out and retire. Maybe Bowden would have enough class to retire also and let Joe have the all-time win record, yeah right.

Shouldn't you be busy breeding those mutts you overcharge for people?

Fight on State!

Never good when you backout......

Concussions suck. I'm recovering from one right now. I have to say concussions are the worst injury (besides something like paralysis).

I hope PSU gets to the big dance... then Florida can beat them!

Sorry, just a lil bitter about the loss. We had that game won! AND my fiance is a gator fan.

yup...thinking with the other head...which is certainly understood. I'm certain you can handle both. Respect for thy fellow neighbor and keep her happy to.

You mean him? I hope. I am a woman after all...

Besides, the big 10 is NOT good! I still love my buckeyes.... we just are not as great as expected. It is another big 10 team's year to get embarrassed in a NC game!

You're right about that unfortunately, but sports is cyclical and there is hope for next year.
I wish Tressel would get an offensive coordinator that would have a little more imagination.

Dude its never good to blackout. Keep him out this week and see what Devlin can do. If you need Clark then use him, keep him healthy!

This may be a grim prediction, but if Clark plays I think he will die. He has not had enough time to recover from the concussion. Blacking out for such a long period of time is not good.
