Snyder in line for K-State return?

Despite a respectable 16-18 overall record and the chance to qualify for a bowl game for the second time in three seasons, Ron Prince accepted his fate without lashing out. Meanwhile, Bob Krause painted a picture that K-State has a concrete, easy-to-implement plan to replace Prince. If I heard Krause correctly, K-State will try to have a new coach named before the end of the regular season. And when pressed on the issue, Krause indicated that none other than K-State legend Bill Snyder would be a candidate for the job. I'm serious. Three years after retiring, Bill Snyder could return to the sideline at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. That would be one explanation for Prince's demise being announced before he faced fellow Big 12 North cupcakes Nebraska and Iowa State. Or maybe Krause plans to tab Gary Barnett, Dennis Franchione, Lane Kiffin or some other out-of-work former head coach. Those choices aren't nearly as fascinating as Snyder returning. Prince's worst crime is fracturing the K-State family. His bold and daring personality turned off many Wildcats fans. His brave words promised a level of success that he delivered on just twice -- victories over Texas. K-State fans would've preferred less talk and victories over Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. That's the recipe that made Snyder a beloved figure. Wildcats fans adored his humility.

Respectable 16-18 record?????????

Bill Snyder Family Stadium? I would also change that while you are overhauling the program.

No offense to Kansas State fans or people who live in Kansas but I am sure it's pretty damn hard to recruit when you are based in Manhattan, Kansas.

He had to go the JUCO route to get guys there and honestly 16-18 at a mid level Big 12 program actually is respectable.

He shouldn't be fired right now. Not after three years, and not at Kansas State a school that doesn't exactly have a long and winning tradition in College Football.

Nebraska 'cupcake'? Not what they once were but 'cupcake' might be going a bit far... A lot of fan bases have inflated expectations. Only 25 teams can be in the top 25 out of 118 D-I programs.

Move on...Snyder had his day...

There is only so many GREAT athletes to go around. That is why you see coaches taking chances on guys that ultimately end up embarrassing the schools they play for. Unless they play for schools in the SEC because they're too dumb to be embarrassed.

Love the recycling of coaches. Anyone want to hazard a guess when an 84 year old Lute Olsen will resurface?

Crazy if Snyder comes back at his age, that is NOT the answer, K-State. If you remember Snyder's last few seasons saw KSU under .500. The admin is obviously being a bit impatient and unrealistic...

As if other conferences and specifically West Virginia, LMAO!, is immune to thuggish ruggish players. One guy is all we need to shut up people from W.V. from talking smack, Adam Pacman Jones.

I agree , no conference has a monopoly on knuckleheads.

Bad coaching hires the last 4 years have cost the big 12 north. Hopefully Bo will bring Nebraska back and KSU can find someone to do the same. Now CU needs to make a move and find someone new.

I thought Hawkins was going to do good things at CU. I thought wrong.

I believe the best choice for K-State if he is interested would be Franchione!! Regardless of how he left Bama he was a good coach and the players bought into his system, for whatever reason the players never bought into the system at A&M, I believe he would be a good fit for K-State and would turn them a round quickly IF they can get him!!

You mean Mr. Rogers?...He's left a few stains along his trail that won't come out...He set up what TCU's today[yes, Pattersons carried the torch well]...but since then not so much...

I thought the same thing. Kansas State has had some decent years in the past and a losing record isn't respectable. I'd say the guy would have had to post at least a 19-15 record over 34 games for it to be considered respectable. 55% winning percentage, not a 47% winning percentage.

Hmm another one bites the dust. Wonder how many openings will hire minority coaches i bet UT, Clemson, KSt., and UW won't

Ah, the KC Star, with its quality editorialization. Calling teams 'cupcakes' when Prince is 0-2 against one and 1-1 against the other, while KSU currently has just one conference win itself. NU nearly defeated the #2 team in the nation on the road, while KSU got steamrolled by them at home. I see they haven't hired any new "writers" lately. Don't be suprised if either (or both) "upsets" KSU in Manhattan.

No disprespect to KSU fans intended, just venting on the continued bias and snobbishness of the KS Star.
