Syracuse coach tweaks Rutgers

Syracuse coach Greg Robinson, who is 0-3 against Rutgers (and 3-22 in Big East play overall), still enjoys tweaking the Knights and Schiano. After having his team enter the field to "The Sopranos" theme before playing the Knights last year, Robinson played the Rutgers fight song in practice this week. "I know. I saw the same website you saw," Schiano said. Asked if it was prime bulletin-board material, he simply said "no." Robinson, whose future at Syracuse remains uncertain, could earn an unprecedented distinction if the Knights win Saturday and he is fired after this season: He would be the first Syracuse coach never to have beaten Rutgers in a series that begin in 1914. Syracuse ranks last in the league in 15 of the 31 major team categories listed by the Big East each week. Rutgers ranks last in three of those categories.

Too little too late for Robinson, cant fault the guy for trying to get his team riled up for the game though.

You know how you know youre bad? you go ofer against Rutgers year after year.

Rutgers and Syracuse, two programs that don't mean sheet

GRob is a classless boob the way he acts. GS has never run down another coach or BE program. If this is how he reacts to pressure, no wonder his teams have been so bad.

He doesn't look fat to me! Don't know about the rest, but this is just plain ridiculous. How can you tweak a team that you're 0-3 against?

Reminds me of Jimmy Piersall telling Yogi Berra, "If you have the pitcher bean me, I'll brain you with this bat." To which Berra replied, "We don't bean hitters batting .200."

Maybe if he was more worried about his team and not getting under the skin of a coach that he hasn't beaten, he might not be gone by the end of the year. Don't let the door hit you on the way out Gregie!!!

Funny how we are even talking about a 3 win team and a 2 win team.

"Hi everybody, I'm Greg Robinson, you might remember me as the guy that **** up teams in both the NFL and college football"

How many games do you have to lose in order to get fired??? Orangemen haven't been good since McNabb.

November 7, 2008  02:34 PM ET

Robinson, wear out Rutgers before they come to Tampa. Pound 'em hard...we need to stop the bleeding & get a bowl game.

I had no idea that sarie-cusey won any.

This guy was a great coordinator for us (Texas) but i guess he thought he was too big for his britches in Texas and decided to be a head coach. Wow. Look how thats turned out. I really can't believe this guy still has a job. He's 9-34 overall and 3-22 against the Big East. I don't know a single coach who has done that painfully bad and still held on to his job. I know he coached for us but once you leave the 40 acres your on your own.

Well Robinson is going to get his distinction forever of never having beat Rutgers this weekend...go RU!

Even bottom feeders get hungry. If Syracuse beats Rutgers, what does that say about Schiano?
