That's kind of childish of Johnson don't you think? All LSU had was a verbal at this point, and maybe the kid just wanted to use his full compliment of visits allowed. You know, do a little traveling on the schools dime.

Wow...that does not help his future recruiting efforts. He's always been a weird guy. I figured he'd do really well with the Academic shackles of Stanford not weighing him down anymore. Strange

recruits shouldn't be ALLOWED to commit until 30 days prior to signing day.
If they've done their homework they wouldn't need to worry about the scholarship being there for them.
I'm no LSU lover but if the kid commits, then backs out, then screw him.

LSU coach Johnson could have had a better player and held this kid's "commitment" in loyalty.
I'm not on the recruits side of this issue.

If you make a committment to someone (about anything) and you don't honor it, you have NO character. If you aren't sure you should not committ until you are sure.

Since when have recruits REQUIRED to tell a school anything... Shame on Johnson, that's some bullsh... I hope LSU has a horrible season and he gets fired.

He does look a little murderous, doesn't he? I just might tune into a couple of games to see what kind of rage he can unload. I like it.

The committment of young men is very important in building programs. To have players say one thing and do another is not trustworthy. Why have an untrustworthy guy in your program. Coach Johnson did the right thing!

Coach Rub, you crazy!. A "visit" IS NOT A DECOMMIT!. Coach Johnson is not this kid's parent or legal guardian. If you are offered more than one job, I doubt you will take one without looking at all your offers. Smart Kid, Dumb "A" Coach

I know this is college basketball here, but consider this...what if Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel would have did the same thing to Terrell Pryor? It seems there is something more to this than we see.

You've only got so many scholarships, especially in basketball. If you think the kid is going to de-commit, use the scholarship elsewhere. I'd rather pull out on the #1 kid and get the #2 kid than have the #1 kid back out at the last minute leaving the #20 kid as the best thing available.

Basketball is a TEAM sport. He didn't have to commit early so if he's this willing to decommit now, just wait til a season gets rough and things don't go well. Don't expect him to be the leader to turn things around.
